Time to swoon ladies :-). These pics will get your day off to a good start. I’m sure there’ll be more to come.
A little peep from the studio thanks to Joy Williams! (Thats a pretty cool looking studio!)
Of course, our weekly dose of Idol Archubuzz and mentions 😛
And after listening to the judges’ comments last week to go younger, you can tell she is floundering. She keeps thinking she’s doing the right thing, but she’s just not. I wish they would actually raise the age limit a bit to allow people to develop a little more — for every Jordin Sparks or David Archuleta, there’s 1,000 Katie Stevens.
I’m not saying the new father delivered anything close to Mindy Doo’s “My Little Valentine” or D’Archie’s “Imagine”; I’m just saying that, from where I sat, Randy’s shock, Ellen’s enthusiasm, Kara’s tears, and Simon’s “best of the semi-finals” praise all made sense to me.
You could credit the night’s biggest tumble to Aaron Kelly, a 16-year-old whom the judges hoped would be another David Archuleta
But even though he’s channeling his inner David Archuleta, I don’t think his vocals are as good.
Cari Adams emailed us regarding the TCAs for 2010.Read more for further info!
Hi guys! A few weeks ago, Teen Choice awards started asking folks to request celebrities who they thought should be nominated or who they want perform for them this year. At that time, there were a lot of requests for other artists, and very few for David.
TCA is gearing up to launch their 2010 voting site. They are looking for nominations, requests and suggestions right now. We need to keep supporting David and show the TCAs that we care. You can send email requests to Teen Choice Awards at firstname.lastname@example.org, or send a tweet to @TeenCAwards2010.
You can recommend that David perform a certain song on the show (which would be awesome promo!) or be a co-host. And you can nominate him for categories, or suggest your own. Examples from previous years:
Choice TV Male Reality/Variety Star, Choice Hook-Up, Choice Music: Male Artist, Choice Music: Love Song, Choice Music Album: Male Artist, Choice Male Hottie (Helllloo), Most Fanatic Fans (us!). Other ideas: Best Duet, Best TV Show Guest, Best Christmas album.
Please take just a minute to do this for David. Thanks!
Very fortunate kids who got mr.archuleta to read to them (: Nice hat btw david.you should wear it at concerts too while singing Zero Gravity. That would be a sight to behold.
Chords of Strength Buzz
From The Examiner:
By: Paula Slade
Not many 19-year olds have experienced life long enough to warrant the writing of a memoir, let alone have it printed and sold by a mainstream publishing house, but that’s all about to change with the Tuesday, May 4, 2010 release of singer/songwriter David Archuleta’s Chords of Strength : A Memoir of Soul, Song and the Power of Perseverance.
Archuleta, became a beloved national entertainment figure in 2008 when he took the country by storm becoming the runner-up for the crowning title of American Idol.
As one of the youngest Idol contestants, his talent and self-effacing manner endeared him to legions of fans, and since that time he has not disappointed his followers, and has continued on a meteoric rise entering the realm of best-selling recording artists on Billboard’s charts.
Chords shares Archuleta’s background about his sustaining faith, his family and the multitude of fans that have provided him with nurturing examples, which set him on his remarkable journey of persevering against all odds, and in the process provided impetus for becoming a role model for many youth.
Along the way, Archuleta frequently gave of his time, talent and celebrity for numerous charitable causes such as his recent participation in the February 19, 2010 recording of the Spanish language version of ‘We are the World” for Haitian earthquake relief, and volunteering to promote literacy for today’s Read Across America event, which Archuleta “Twittered” about earlier in the day to his followers, as he good-naturedly donned a red and white striped hat to read his favorite kid’s author, Dr. Seuss, and Seuss’ inspiring story, Oh, The Places You’ll Go! to a classroom of 4th grade students.
In anticipation of the May 4 release date, Chords of Strength : A Memoir of Soul, Song and the Power of Perseverance may be pre-ordered through such retailers as Amazon.com.
Archuleta’s Chords of Strength, published by Celebra, an imprint of the Penguin Group, will be a guaranteed hit with his devoted fans, and a much needed dose of inspiration for many others, as the book offers an in-depth look at this remarkable young person who has overcame vocal chord paralysis and personal insecurities, in order to capture his dream of becoming a singer.
More Idol Buzz
Another weekly dose of AI comparisons with seasons past 😛 Gosh,i still remember my reaction the moment i saw Imagine on my TV 2 years ago like it was 2 days ago.One word to sum it up : GOBSMACKED. In three words? Sealed,Signed,Delivered!
Michael Slezak – Over the first two weeks of semifinal competition, we’ve seen the weight of the judges’ conflicting instructions, the burden of early expectations, and/or the load of barely masked insecurities prevent each of the 10 remaining men from fully embracing whatever potential they might have to follow in the illustrious footsteps of Ruben Studdard, Bo Bice, Chris Daughtry, Elliott Yamin, David Archuleta, David Cook, and the other men who’ve transformed themselves from wide-eyed wannabes into bona fide stars under the critical eyes of 30 million TV viewers.
The closest we came to an actually professional performance was the night’s first singer, Big Mike with “It’s A Man’s World” [watch it here]. And yet, even season nine’s best boy pales in comparison to the fellas who’ve taken the stage before. For example, during season seven’s second semi-final round, we were given this classic David Archuleta performance of “Imagine.”
Nothing even close to that level of showmanship is coming out of these guys’ mouths. So once again I say, step it up boys, otherwise this season will be a total wash.
He’s in a bit of a hurry lol and feeling very brrrrrr cold! 🙂
Just wanted to have a quick check-in with everyone! Gifts have been a little difficult getting through lately just with lack of time. It’s more reading all the letters, since most of them are starting to get pretty long lol. So sorry but I have to just skim through most of them now without being able to really read them. It’s the only way I can get to all of them though. But thanks so much for supporting the tour you guys! It’s been such a fun ride! Catch the Connecticut show on Billboardlive.com this week!

With the Christmas season fast approaching, David Archuleta took some time out of his schedule to talk to The Daily Universe about his newly released holiday album, “Christmas from the Heart,” his rise in the pop world and his upcoming tour, which kicks off in Salt Lake City later this month.
