Especially those that you missed 🙂
Especially those that you missed 🙂
continued from part 2……….
After the concert ended, we decided to head to KL Hilton to see if we can get a chance to meet David. Followed John to the hotel. We reached the hotel around 11:30pm and as we were walking from the lift towards the lobby, we saw the band coming out from the van. Ohhh yeah good timing baby 😉 Then we quietly asked for a group pic with the band and they said okay 🙂
The band were really really friendly. Got to spend a little extra time with Mark and Steven as well. I asked Mark what is his favourite food so far and all I remembered he said something about fish hahahah. I asked him whether have he tried nasi lemak but he is not sure what is that and Shu Yee tried to explain it is like coconut rice but I don’t think he gets it. He said he eats whatever is in room service LOL! Mark is such a friendly person. He entertained every fan that approached him and talks to us like we are his friends or something and he was the last to go back to his room. So sweet right?? 😀
Didn’t really talk much to Mark but I just told him that he has to come back to Malaysia again and he said sure 🙂 Ahh, Mark has such beautiful blue eyes too <33
After the band head back to their rooms, all of us continued to hang around trying our luck to meet David.
We waited and waited until about 1am but there was still no sign of him 😦 We continued waiting and we were thinking maybe David left the stadium right after the concert ended or maybe he waited for everyone to go back first then only he leaves. We were just thinking about it and trying to map it all out and it was 1:15am by then. Suddenly we saw a white Alphard car at the hotel entrance. Then I said maybe it can be someone else because there’s other people having that car too! Then we were just looking and then the door opened and suddenly we saw Jeff came out from the car dsklfhkldsgkldhsklaghklasdg!!!
After David signed her book, I asked David whether we can have a group picture and he said sure. So I quickly gave my DSLR to this lady, (I have no idea who is she) and she said “Okay I’m only going to take one picture so you guys just get the picture from her okay. I promise this is going to be a nice one.” Then she took the picture and I asked her to take one more time just in case but someone else gave her their camera to take a pic. Then after we were done taking pics, I took my camera and checked back the photo…… THERE WAS NO PHOTO…… SHE DIDN’T TAKE THE PHOTO!!!! T.T I wanted to cry at that moment because that was my only personal group photo I had with David in my own camera but now its gone. By the time I looked up and wanted to tell the lady, she was already walking towards the lift to go up *sigh* I cant believe this just happened. But thank God, Naree said she took a photo of us phewwww.. but we weren’t looking at the camera 😦 Well, at least its still something, better than nothing right 🙂 Thank you so much Naree. You are my life saver!
After David went back to his room, Jeff stayed back to talk to the fans.
Jeff, as usual being chatty… We got to talked to him for a good 30 minutes. Jeff is really funny too talking about the puberty part and also teasing David 😛 Jeff also told us about how they didn’t know about the album sales in Malaysia and was surprised when David received that 6x platinum award. I remember Anne asked Jeff if David received the AAM shirt that they gave to him but Jeff wasn’t sure because I think David probably has too many shirts! Hahahah. Jeff said he wouldn’t really wear shirts with his name on it. He would probably give it to his sister to wear instead. Someone also suggested about a Christmas Tour in Malaysia and we also talked about David’s songs being played on the radio stations and other stuff that I don’t quite remember heheh 😛 We also managed to get a group photo with Jeff before we left.
We left the hotel around 2 something in the morning and Shu Yee fetched me home. Thanks Shu Yee! :DD
Overall, I will never forget that 2 days ever. It was such an awesome experience and so much great memories that I’ll never forget. I’m really going to miss all of this. About that photo thingy that happened, it really brought me down but now when I think back, I always tell myself to think about all the 101 other stuff that made me happy because it will always outdo the bad things. Always count your blessings and be thankful no matter what happens. Good things definitely comes to those who wait and dreams do come true! Getting to meet the David, Jeff and the band, getting to experience a full blown concert, I would never imagine myself getting to do all this! Really glad that I got to meet many new friends because of David too! Thank you AAM again for giving me a chance to meet David and also for always being there for the fans and taking time to help the fans out with everything. You guys are amazing. Thank you so much AAM! Till the next time when David comes back here again for another concert! 🙂
Okay so that is the end of my recap and I hope you guys enjoy reading it. Im really sorry guys if its really long ><
Continue from Part 1..
26th July 2011 – I went to school in the morning but half of the time I couldnt concentrate at all haha. Cheryl and I kept talking about the concert in class and we were really really excited! I couldnt believe “the day” has finally come. I’ve been talking about this since the day I found out David is coming here. Even those of my friends who doesnt know about David coming for a concert or even some of them who sadly dont even know David, they knew all about it from me because of the AAM contest that I took part in (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYnWgkDRXF0). So Im quite happy in a way that I got to spread some Archu love around while doing this video haha 😀 So, school ended at 1.10pm and the second we heard the bell rang, Cheryl and I quickly grabbed our bags and walked really fast back to my house. My house from school is about 5 minutes walk so it didnt take that long. When we reached home, we quickly had our lunch and showered and we left the house at 2.30pm to go to Kelana Jaya LRT Station. When we reached the station, John fetched us to Stadium Negara. Thank you John for the ride!!! 🙂 We reached Stadium Negara around 3.30pm and we just hang around there with the other fans. It was really hot on that day. I remember when David’s showcase in 2009.. it was raining but this time it was the opposite! When it was time for the soundcheck, I could hear David singing from outside! I was standing so close to the door because I wanted to get a clearer sound and also because of the air-cond 😛 Ahhhh hearing his voice was just so awesome. Its like you cant even tell if he is really singing or its from the CD. It is that good! The part when David sang Everything And More and in the middle of the song he used his lower register ohmygoshhhh!! <33333
Then after the soundcheck was M&G session woohoooo! I was in the 6th batch with AAM to meet David. There were 5 of us. When we went inside the room to meet david, the AAM batch before us were giving their gifts and giving their last words to David before they had to leave. When it was our turn, the Sony people asked us to take a group pic with David first. When I went to stand next to David, I said hi David and he said hey guys 🙂
I could tell he was really really tired but he just smile like everything is okay <333 I was pretty bummed because the M&G session only lasted for like less than a minute because there were still many batches to go and they had to rush due to limited time. If only the M&G session was after the concert. Anyways, after the Sony people took our group pictures, everyone had to quickly give their gifts to David. Everyone wanted to talk to him so I was waiting for my turn to talk to him and the guard beside me just had to put his arm infront of me and kept saying okay okay indirectly asking me to go and david was just right infront of me pfft -.-
After the M&G session we hang around for a little while and then headed to Times Square to have our quick dinner since we had about an hour to spare before the concert starts. We finished our dinner and quickly went to the toilet first. When we were heading towards the Monorail station, suddenly I heard Irda screamed my name “Marianne! I lost my ticket!” I turned around and saw Irda on the floor searching for the ticket in her bag and searching in every of her pockets. All of us quickly helped her to search for her ticket and Irda ran down the escalator heading to the food court to see if she left her ticket there. We were all freaking out when her ticket was no where to be found in her bag and we didnt know what to do. It was 7.40pm by then and the concert starts at 8pm! I called John and told him about it and he asked all of us to go back to the stadium and meet him at the Ticket Charge counter and maybe they can help us. Before I could call Irda, she called me and said she couldnt find it and she was crying. I told her to come back to us and go back to the stadium and the Ticket Charge people may be able to help her. When she came back and we were about to leave, we lost Cheryl -.- We were calling out her name loudly and walking around that area but we couldnt find her. I called her and her number could not be reached, great! We were just standing there clueless for about 2 minutes and suddenly we saw Cheryl running up the escalator and she said she went looking for Irda -.-
Okay so everyone was back together and we rushed to the LRT station and got our train tickets and headed back to the stadium. Irda was really upset and all of us tried to cheer her up and tell her not to worry because everything will be fine. When we reached the Ticket Charge counter, we saw John waiting for us 🙂 Then, the Ticket Charge lady tried to retrieve back all the information from the ticket launch because Irda bought her tickets through AAM. We waited for about 5 minutes and then the lady said “We are going to print a new ticket for you now, so tell her not to cry okay.” We were all relieved and so happy when we heard that but Irda was still a little upset after all she went through and I told Irda “Im sure you dont want David to see you like that right? Can you please smile for us? :D” And then she showed us her teeth and gave a smile and we cheered and clapped for her. Even the people we dont know was like woohooo although they dont know what was going on HAHAHAHAHH! 😛
After everything was settled, we were ready to get inside the stadium. When we had to get our bags checked before we entered, one of the Sony lady (I forgot whats her name) she said “hiiii!” and I said “hi, you remember me? O.o” Then she said of course because I think she seen me too many times at the ticket launch, auto session and on that day too haha. She was really nice and she asked to check my ticket and then say said “okayy, enjoy the concert!” then I said “thanks!” and guess what, she didnt even check my bag at all! Dang, I could have brought in my DSLR! lol. Anyways, when we got in, we were all feeling excited and pumped up for the concert! All of us went to take our seats and got settled.
While waiting for David to come out, I decided to ask James sitting next to me, “why not we all sing a song together?” Then she said “Okay! But it has to be a song that everyone knows” Then I said “Somethin bout love?” Then she said “Okay!” So we told our friends sitting near to us about it and they agreed to sing along the chorus. Then I said “Okay 1,2….3!” *Everyone start singing* “There’s somethin bout love that breaks your heart, whoa oh oh oh, that sets you free….” Then more and more people started singing along with us too. It was so fun! After that, I suggested Touch my hand and everyone sang along too. “Saw you from the distance, saw you from the stage, somethin bout the look in your eyes somethin bout your beautiful faceeeee…” Then half way singing, the band came out and everyone stopped singing because they were so excited and started cheering. We were all chanting “david, david, david!” and I could see Steven smiling haha.
Then the band started playing Stomping the roses and everyone was cheering and screaming….. and david came out!!!!!! Wooot I couldnt help but scream too heheh 😛 Ohmygosh the part David sang “carry me awayyyyy…. did you feel like STOMPINGG THE ROSESSS” ahhhhhhhh love the confidence and the energy when he walks and moves! <3333 Love dont hate was sooo good too! Sounded even better live!!! Love how David interact with his fans when he sang Elevator too. When he sang using his lower register again, wooooot so sexy! HAHAHAHAAHAH!
Everybody wants to rule the world was one of my personal faves. Love how he gives great and positive messages at the beginning and he said “If you have a dream, If you have a love for something then you should go for it!” He is amazinggg! Love how he keeps to his values too <333
Loved how he he said A thousand miles reminds him about his mom and he dedicated that song to her awwww :’)
Touch my hand was just awesome! My favourite song from his first album. Love it when he says “only me, only you and the band” and points to the band omggg and also when he stretch out his arms towards the fans ahhhhh ❤ So cool that he took the flower from the fan in the middle of the song too :DD
Stand by me was dsjklgdlshlg. The part when he sang “just as long, as you stand, stand by me” wooooot his hand movements and also when he sang “AND ALL YOU BEAUUUUUTIFUL GIRLS~” he really made the girls go crrraaazzzyyyy including me 😛 *hides at a corner*
When David hit those high notes singing Everything and more, really gives me tingles everywhere.. I dont think there’s anyone who can sing it like david with such passion and full of emotions. Really really beautiful!
Zero gravity was insane! It really hit me real hard. I couldnt stop jumping like my butt is on fire. Love the energy in this song!!! David couldnt stop jumping too and I’ve mentioned this before but I love his confidence when he does the walk.
And then comes the encore, when David said the next song he was gonna sing is by Bryan Adams called Heaven, I screamed and I was sooooo happy until tears just went rolling down my cheek. I was really hoping for David to sing this song. When I watched him sing that song in Manila, I was like okay thats it.. David has to sing that song when he comes here. I was telling my friends that I hope he sings it during the concert and I tweeted him on the concert day itself. I said “David pleaseee sing heaven at your concert tonight!” Hearing that song really touched me and I cant believe I cried. Cried because I just just overwhelmed with emotions. I was really in heaven indeed! DAVID I LOVE YOU AND THANK YOU FOR MAKING MY DREAM COME TRUE!
I also made a banner about Heaven
Oh and before David sang crazy, so adorbs when he put his finger at his lips asking the crowd to keep quiet LOL.
The concert ended with Crush. Loved how after he sang the song, he went backstage and came back out again to thank the fans and he banged a little on the drums too!!! <333 THANK YOU DAVID!! 🙂
Okay so this is my first recap ever so please bear with me if it gets a little draggy or anything LOL.( *AAM edit: “She’s not kidding folks lol” 😀 😀 )
So lets start with the autograph session – 25th July 2011. The event started at 8pm but I had tution till 6:30pm but I left a little earlier, around 6:15pm and when I was on the way home, Cheryl texted me that she was on her way to pick me up already OHMYGOSH AHHHHHH! Less than 5 minutes after I got home, Cheryl gave me a miss call that she was already outside my house!! :O *SCREAMS* I was literally running from my room to the toilet to the study room to get ready my stuff and then I quickly got into the car. After about 1 minute I got into the car, I realized that I forgot to take my food that my mom packed for me cuz she knows I wont eat anything when Im there lol *smacks head*
So we were on our way to Kelana Jaya LRT Station and I kept saying I was so scared that we cant make it in time because we had a long way to go. I think I told Cheryl that atleast 5 times HAHAHAHAH! Thank God Cheryl’s friend who fetched us there knew some short cuts to the LRT station because it was reallyyyy jam! He was using some weird way and I was really lost but to cut the long story short we made it to the LRT station around 7.20pm and we quickly got into the next train to KL Sentral. After we reached KL Sentral, we had to switch to Monorail and it was our first time taking the Monorail so we were a little lost again. I asked one of the person at the counter for directions to the Monorail station and it was a longgggg walk ohmygoodness! Cheryl and I walked as fast as we could and it felt like the walk was never ending LOL! After a few minutes, Cheryl was like “There, I found the Monorail station!” *points to the Monorail station* Then we quickly crossed the road and bought our train tickets. Ohmyy the Monorail train took forever to come! I think my grandmother can walk faster than the train haha just kidding 😛 There were alot of people and we were waiting anxiously and there was a “nice” big clock infront of us so it made everything more “tension” *sigh* It was around 7:40pm by then and we’re still waiting and waiting…. and waitinggg… and finallyyyy the train arrived and when we were in the train on the way to Bukit Bintang, Sam called me up to tell me that they said David is going to be there anytime soon. I was like AHHHHHH okay okay Im almost there!!! I couldnt scream cuz people around me would think I’ve gone mad. We had one more stop to go to reach Bukit Bintang and my heart was going BONKERS!
When we finally reached Bukit Bintang, Cheryl and I was running like some crazy people while carrying our bags, DSLR bag, water bottle and my poster. We entered Fahrenheit 88 through the side entrance cuz we came from that direction and we just ran down the escalator cuz we had no idea where was it at. We were running back and fourth and then realized that we were on the wrong floor. #fail If you guys had watched us running, you will probably laugh like crazy seriously. So we ran back up and went outside and decided to go through the main entrance and THE AUTO SESSION WAS JUST THERE OHMYGOSH!! -.- I ran as fast as I could *Imagine the olympic song in my head as though Im in a race* and FINALLY WE MADE IT!!!! I was so glad that we made it in time and David wasnt there yet phewww! Salamahafifi and the Singaporean archies were standing right behind me and suddenly one of them said David just tweeted and he said “In Malaysia now! Did some fun interviews and now headed to Fahrenheit 88 for a signing!” Ahhhhhh I was getting more and more excited!
Nadia from FlyFm did a great job as being the emcee during the Auto Session and when the moment she said “DAVID IS IN THE BUILDING!” I felt like I was going to get a heart attack HAHAHAHAHAH! My goshhh when David walked up the stage….. SADFJSHGKLFHDLKFDHSJK OHMYHECK ITS DAVID ARCHULETAAAA! Gahhh are my eyes deceiving me??!! *rubs eyes* OMG HE IS REALLY HERE!!! Ahhhhh his face, gorgeous eyes, soft hair, sweetest smile ever, blue checkered shirt AHHHHHH! I couldnt believe that I was looking at THE ARCHULETA WITH MY OWN NAKED EYES! O.O Couldnt believe I was just standing a few metres away from him and I was breathing the same air as him. This is just too much to take in all at once!! *faints*
Goshhhh, his SMILE when he was walking up the stage….. PRICELESS…
When he sang the chorus of “Somethin Bout Love” acapella, woahhh it sounded so clear and his voice was soooo powerful and just so freaking awesome!
Then comes the signing part…..
When it was my turn..
Me: Hi david!
*looks up at me and takes my album*
*DIES* OHMYGOSHHHH his eyes sdalfhdklsghlsdh!! I finally got to experience how is it like looking into his eyes because people who’ve met him keeps talking about it and I was like woahhh really, you can get stunned by just looking into his eyes??! O.O
FACT: DAVID ARCHULETA HAS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL EYES I’VE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE ❤
Me: Umm can you sign my name on it? 🙂
David: Sure! Whats your name?
Me: Marianne… M-a-r-i-a-n-n-e
Me: Hey david check out my bag! 😀
*turns around and show him my bag*
David: COOOOLL! Where did you get that from?
Me: Ohh my friend got it for me heheh 😀
(Wanted to tell him that I brought it just for him cuz he also had that soft toy but I was afraid the lady will shoo me away)
David: Ohh thats so cool.
*gives me my album*
Me: Okay thanks david. It is nice to meet you! 🙂
*handshake* (AHHHH! His handshake was so firm and his hand felt so warm haha)
David: Aww, your welcome! *smile*
DSKLSDGHKLSDFHGKLGLFK OHMYFREAKINGGODNESS I JUST MET DAVID ARCHULETA *dies for the 1398573427 time* Love his sweet and innocent face!! 🙂
When I was about to walk down the stage, I just couldnt stop smiling like an idiot until I accidentally dropped my album if Im not mistaken and the guard helped me to pick it up. I just couldnt stop smiling the entire time.. Infact Im actually smiling right now typing this out 😛 Some of the fans got to have a good chat with Jeff too!
To cut the long story short again, when david was about to leave, I was standing where david was going to exit from and when he was walking towards my direction, WOWWWW seeing the amount of guards protecting him oh yeahh DAVID IS A SUPERSTAR YO! Nobody mess with THE ARCHULETA 🙂 He touched a few of the fan’s hands and things got a little crazy then he stopped 😦 Everyone was running behind him and it was so crazy but so fun hahahah!
Right after David and all the peeps left, I decided to go up the stage and sit on where David sat and took pictures. When I sat on the chair, I could still feel the warmness from David’s butt HAHAHAHAH! 😛
I had such a fun time with all the AAM-mers too and Im so glad that I got to meet some new friends all thanks to David 🙂 We also got to take group photos together after the Auto Session.
When I was on my way to Bukit Bintang, I remember I felt hungry (I always get hungry lol) and I needed to pee too LOL! But after the Auto Session I didnt feel hungry at all and I didnt feel like going to the toilet anymore HAHAHAHAHAH! Im not kidding. We left Fahrenheit 88 around 11pm. Followed Shu Yee and James home. Thank you soooo much Shu yee and James for the lift. Really really appreciate it! ^^ When I got home, I quickly showered and pack my stuff for THE BIG DAY and I had to pack my school bag too. Lol and yes I had to go to school the next day because I wanted to skip school on the following day instead.
To be continued……
We came together and we laughed, hugged, giggled, ate, gossiped and experienced all over again the heady moments of the cosmic concert, M&Gs, autograph sessions, press conference and sound check.
The minute we set down at Madam Kwan’s for our dinner, cameras and notebooks were whipped out in record time to exchange new photos and images that were captured at the various events prior to the concert.
We saw never before released video footage ( many of which were taken by super stealthy Archiekins who were afraid that their video recorders would be seized by the army of nasty security personnel 🙂 ). I must commend the videographers who took those videos for their super steady hands while presumably bobbing their heads and jiving away to David’s music. We exchanged photos and heard new stories about the concert that made it seem as if it happened only the day before. In particular was the story told by Lily about the Hilton Hotel escapade! How she was practically left driving the car with it’s doors all opened while all her passengers zoomed back to the hotel lobby the minute they spotted David lol.
And best of all we met new Archiekins Candace, Jason and Zach who joined us for our gathering.
After dinner we ended up at Starbucks where we continued our trip down memory lane until the wee hours of Sunday morning. Needless to say we had a blast! 😀 😀
And this is all due to a wonderful young man from Utah, United States who has weaved his magic over us all and brought us together. It’s ironic really to think that a person from foreign shores can be such a unifier whereas our local politicians are doing such a messy job of it.
My Kind of Amazing ArchuExperience
by Elynna Abdul Rashid.
My sister and I (the ArchuTwins, as we like to call ourselves. Haha) had two of the best days of our lives, no kidding! After all, they were the days when our guilty pleasure, our inspiration and our kind of perfect aka David Archuleta was in town. I have no idea what kind of spell he had on us, but not one day had gone by when we have not thought of him and discussed about him, respectfully of course, since we got to know him in his Idol days. Not one! Imagine our heartbeats when we got word that the man himself was coming, wooh!
It was so sweet of David to come near us excited fans at the airport, taking his gifts and cards from us and shaking our hands, all the while smiling and saying thank you. When he took the postcard from my sister, my heart skipped a beat and I let out a soft scream. The moment he shook my hand, my heart did a bachata (cheh!) and I was literally speechless. He shook my hand! My first Archuhandshake! My girly bits went all girly. Oh, that was definitely A Moment!
While running after him (he and his team walked super-fast!), my sister actually called out to him to “Look here!” twice, and both times, he did. I think that’s very nice of him, I mean, I have read articles saying that David obliges his fans’ reasonable requests like this, but I always thought that it was too good to be true. I’m glad I stand corrected. After that, when David was already in the back seat of the van, he was talking so calmly to the lady sitting next to him and fiddling with an Elmo balloon Amira gave him while everyone else were so excitedly calling out his name and taking pictures of him as if he was a zoo exhibit. I mean, how does he do that?! Anyway, all I wanted was for David to notice me so I waved my arms off just to catch his attention. All of a sudden, he stopped talking, looked me in the face, tilted his head to the left, smiled a pity-ish kind of smile (I think so because my hair, which was supposed to be under the protection of my tudung, was showing so untidily and my face was shining with sweat after running after him) and waved at ME for a full two seconds before turning to wave at the others! I was overjoyed; I couldn’t think straight, haha.
Soon after, my sister and I were dropped off at Hilton by Jolene, who played her The Other Side of Down album in the car (thanks, Jolene!). It was really fun to hear her talking so animatedly about her amazing encounters with David the last time he came, all the way from KLIA to Hilton! We felt a rush of such a positive vibe. Anyway, Elyssa and I were separated from the other AAMers we met earlier at the hotel lobby. Luckily, I saved Deborah’s number so I texted her, to which she replied, “Level 6.” (Thanks, Deborah!) When we went there, the AAMers were already inside the room where the press conference was held and we were “stranded” outside the door. Out of the blue, a busy-looking woman talked to us and said, “Okay, I’m going to let you in. But, you have to be CALM,” she added after Elyssa gave a small Wooh! I think she panicked, haha. We were so thankful!
When David walked into the room, Elyssa and I couldn’t help nudging each other. Omigod! That’s David! It’s the REAL thing! As all my sister and I wanted was for David to notice us, again, we waved so heartily at him from below. He was already half-way sitting, when obligingly, he stood up straight for a fraction of a second and waved directly AT US before sitting down again! If you can believe it, that small gesture made us very happy. Afterwards, when the press and the photographers left the room to take pictures of David on another level of the hotel, again, my sister and I tried our luck. David was talking to some men on the stage when Elyssa and I went up front with our banners up and called out his name a couple of times. David giggled and was like, “Heheey!” and waved at us again! That man, I tell you. Made our day!
After the press conference, Elyssa and I hitched a ride with Aunty Paik Yee to Fahrenheit 88 where the autograph session was held (thanks, Aunty Paik Yee!). We were not expecting to get David’s signature as we had already bought our tickets, but the Sony people were really considerate, so David’s autograph we got (thanks Sony people!)! While we were waiting for our turn to meet the David Archuleta, Jeff was talking to the girls in front of us. When the girls went up the stage, Jeff turned to us and said, “Ooh, matching scarves.” When we told him we’re twins, he said, “You don’t say. Is this a coincidence? Did you come with those girls? Two twins in a row! Wow, I have GOT to take a picture of this!” We had NO idea the girls in front of us were twins too, really! Jeff went up the stage before us and while David was still talking to the other set of twins, Jeff motioned us to look at his camera and smile. OMG! David Archuleta’s dad just took a picture of US! In his own personal PHONE!
Our turn to meet David! I held a rolled up scrapbook we made to pass it on to David when I meet him later and we gave our camera to Nadia from Fly.fm to take pictures of this long-awaited moment (thanks, Kak Nadia!). I was really nervous while Elyssa, being Elyssa, was super excited. She actually put her hand out to shake David’s hand before I had the chance to (and I was standing in front of her), haha. David was really nice, he was like, “Oh, you’re twins too? Did you come with them?” David, oh David. Like father like son, LOL. Anyway, I said to David, “David, thank you so much for EVERYTHING.” He was like, “Awh, noo!” And when Elyssa said the same thing, he replied with a, “No, thank YOU for supporting me.” Awh! And then he signed my album and obligingly wrote my name on it. Then I asked him for a hug, which I knew he wouldn’t give at any of his signing sessions, but I gave it a shot anyway. Who knows, maybe I’ll get as lucky as Jolene? Haha. But, no luck anyway. Although, as expected of David Archuleta every time he refused a hug, he did smile sheepishly, leaned back a little, and said with an almost sorry tone, “Awh, High Five?” Of course I didn’t turn it down! When David diverted his attention towards Elyssa, I left the stage. Elyssa’s experience with David was a tad different than mine. For one, she couldn’t stop saying “David, I love you!” and “Omigod, omigod, omigod” to David that when he asked her for her name to write on the album, she didn’t realize it! But David was really nice though. He didn’t push her to stop talking; instead he waited patiently for her to stop gushing (that’s an Awh! moment, right there). Oh, and a thousand and one thoughts came running through my head when I met him that I forgot to pass him the scrapbook. And I had it in my HAND! Ah, well. Managed to pass it on to his father after that though, phew!
MEET AND GREET SESSION
The moment I had been waiting for SO long! When my sister and I arrived at the stadium, we checked our names and were really glad to know that we will be sharing our picture with David with Aunty Paik Yee and her daughter. While waiting, we could hear David’s sound check session going on inside, although not so clear. I wish I would’ve tried harder to listen to it, but I was talking too excitedly with a friend whom I haven’t met since leaving school last year. I’m not complaining though, it was great meeting her again! Anyway, when it was our turn to go in, I was literally shaking. I know I’d met the guy who had influenced me so much just a few hours before, but I couldn’t help it. It’s David! Inside the room, we said Hi! to Jeff and I just stared at David’s ever-smiling face as long as I could. When the group before us left the room, Elyssa was already excitedly calling out David’s name and her outstretched hand was the first to reach David’s. David was nice, as ever. He was like, “Oh, hey! How are you?” and shook both our hands, and also Aunty Paik Yees’ and her daughters’ hands too. Then, I gave David a black t-shirt with the words I ❤ THAILAND printed on it, but I scratched the LAND and added FOOD & MALAYSIANS (as in the people) TOO 😉 using crayon. He thought the wordings were I ❤ MALAYSIA, he didn’t read it when I gave it to him. But we heard his dad laughed when he held it for the picture, haha. Then, WE HUGGED HIM. We asked him if we could, but he didn’t say no. So we did! According to Elyssa, he was about to hug me back. But I was too nervous, I let go off him too soon L. Because he didn’t return Elyssa’s hug, see (maybe because he wasn’t expecting it), so I was scared that he wouldn’t like it if I hug him. Oh, why did she have to tell me that NOW? Ah well, better luck next time. And oh, by the way, David was our first ever Boy-Hug!
The concert was, of course, more than what we had expected! My sister and I bought David’s official t-shirts right before the concert, so we changed into them immediately. There are simply too much to tell about our experience at the concert, but rest assured, they are all amazing! One of the highlights of the concert was during Elevator, for us at least. We were sitting in the middle of the fourth row, so I’d like to think that David had a clear view of us as much as we had a clear view of him, haha. During the part when David sang “What you don’t expect, to come and find you,” he was looking and pointing directly at Elyssa! Seriously! Both of us were jumping and singing along so happily without a care in the world and suddenly, he looked our way, smiled a sort of teasing smile and pointed to my sister! All thoughts gone, we froze on the spot. Then we looked at each other and squealed excitedly! He pointed! HE POINTED! Oh, we melted. Another highlight was when he looked at us again at one point. I don’t remember what song he was singing then but he stayed at that spot for quite some time. I kept nudging Elyssa to put down her camera as David was looking, and at that moment, I was like, “Ala, kenapa Lyssa tak turunkan camera?” According to my sister, she had a feeling that David WAITED for her to click the camera before moving on! I mean, I have read a recap from someone who’s been to a show David did before a book signing session that David did just that, but to have it happening to us was a different story. We were really grateful! Too bad the camera that we used was not canggih; by the time the camera caught the picture, David had already moved away. But at least it made us feel special J.
After those two amazing days ended, Elyssa and I were still over the moon even though I was already suffering from the post-David-in-KL blues. It was so sad to know that David had left Malaysia, although I am happy that he got to go back to somewhere he’s familiar with and have a much deserved rest. I was just telling Amira through Twitter how lucky she was that David’s dad tweeted through her account when she told me that Jeff remembered us! He said that he’d never seen twins at any of David’s autograph sessions before and he thought that it was unique that this time he got to see TWO sets of twins at his sons’ autograph session, back to back pulak tu! He even told Amira that he took a picture of us just for keepsake! I don’t know if Amira was just jesting with us or not, so if she lied to me, that means I lied to you lah. Haha, kidding! Thanks, Amira!
We started the first day with very low expectations, and ended the second day with pure satisfaction. Good things do come to those who wait, eh? We have a lot of people to thank for, but I believe that I am most indebted to God who had given us this amazing experience we’ll never forget. Alhamdulillah. My sister and I have made many wonderful friends and we are so grateful. Thank you so much everyone! So that’s my recap of my kind of Amazing ArchuExperience. I’ll leave it to you if you want to believe them or not, but rest assured, I am not a very good liar :P.
Ps: David, if you’re reading this, rest assured that if Falling Stars was meant for us, you don’t have much to worry about J. And Come back to Malaysia SOON! We miss you already!
