Yeah .. you can’t deny it .. David was born to sing Spanish songs (…and Mandarin songs .. and Tagalog songs and … ) Even though I am very much tempted to say “No David, please don’t sing in Spanish, I don’t understand a single word you’re so passionately singing!”
I regret not having studied harder my Spanish lessons in school. I didn’t know at the time that decades later, I would be Googling hard to understand the lyrics of some guy singing Spanish songs in Peru for chrissake!
That breathy tone he has – smooth yet husky .. sigh .. any girl would fall under his spell when he belts out those words of love . Especially in Spanish. It does not matter if she doesn’t understand those Latino words (since his eyes will explain the meaning) Sorry I’m beginning to write cheesy ……. 😛
Here are some lyrics of the song Aqui Estoy Yo:
Here I am
Here I am to make you laugh once again
trust me, leave your fears behind and you’ll see
here I am with a kiss burning on my lips
it’s for you, it may change your life, let me get in…
I ask the sun that a blue star
will come to you and make you fall in love with its light
And this one:
Creo en ti
I believe in you
It doesn’t even matter all the nights that I’ve waited,
All the streets or labyrinths that I’ve crossed,
Because the sky has conspired in my favor,
And, at a second away from giving up, I found you.
Skin to skin,
My heart disarms itself,
You do me so much good,
You turn on the lights inside my soul.
I believe in you and in this love,
That makes me indestructible,
That stopped my free fall,
I believe in you, and my pain,
Has left miles behind,
My ghosts are now finally at peace.

Oh Wow! Trust Latino lyrics to stab at the heart like no other! I feel quite twisted 😀
This is a phenomenal version of CRUSH David performed in Peru. Now, this, I understand! 😛
