We at AAM decided that there has been too much talk about wars and plane crashes the past few weeks at every David-site, including ours. Even a David Archuleta site (peaceful and gentle David, remember?) has pictures of fighter planes and guns and soldiers toting guns – we can’t even begin to know all the names of these weapons and instruments of warfare. And the news of all those plane crashes – 370.. 17 .. Taiwan.. Algeria – is enough to make one lose sight of cheeriness and all the lighter things which can still instill a calmer demeanour to our lives and make us feel that life is still worth living.
Even with heavy hearts, we need to deal with adversity with not just grace, but also humour. Facing setbacks and possibly creating comebacks. We are not brushing off reality. Neither are we going to forget the importance and significances of what has come to pass and valuable lessons learnt.
Like David, Dean, Dan and Jason – from the pics I have seen, and from that vid where their plane was shot at in Afghanistan – they were holding up calmly with smiles on their faces, with lots of humour to boot.
So we will deviate somewhat from the horrors of war (since David has sent a tweet that he is home) and have some much needed humour (and a real G A H!! pic at the end!) in this post. 🙂 We have been getting many hilariously wacky poses and jokes from Jason Hewitt as he journeys with David in the Middle East and I’m sure most of you guys have seen them and had some good laughs. But we would rather focus on David. 🙂 Don’t ask why. 😉
Aahh.. this picture of peace and smiles is better. 🙂 Taken in Ethiopia.
We had David in a funny Bunny Suit before. Then a smart Missionary Suit Now, at the far end, a Bomb-Diffusing Suit!
But let us not think of it as a military suit. Think of it as David in another kind of suit. 😉
David weighing 200 Lbs! (Or more?!)

The Face that can lighten our hearts in the face of adversity.
And the Voice that can make us love our neighbour as we love ourselves.
