Lyrics courtesy of Snarky Archies (:
whoa whoa oh oh whoa whoa whoa ohhhhh
all that i could try to be
someone that just wasn’t there
agony and ecstasy
all the things i lost out there?
just this once, gotta try
spread these broken wings and fly?
if i could only be
what this world wants me to be
could i finally be free, yeah
and live in harmony
all that i can try to be
the world out there that wants you to be
livin’ life da da da
got to face reality?
sometimes sometimes i run
though we’re never apart (but i do love britney spears)
if you could only be
what this world wants you to be
could you finally be free, yeah
and live in harmony
and i feel like i’m on one thing then another thing, oh oh oh
and i can’t get caught up with all that’s in front of me, oh oh oh
though when i’m with you i am who i’m meant to be
oh oh ohhhhhh
if we could only be
what this world wants us to be
could we finally be free
and live in harmony, yeah
yeaaaaaaah
got to be
got to be free
got to be
got to be free
ohhh ohhh ohhhhh
if we could only be, yeah
what this world wants us to be, yeah
could we finally be free, yeah
and live in harmony, yeah yeah yeah oohhhhhhh

Buzz, buzz and MORE Idol Buzz!
With the finale going on this week, expect plenty of archumentions everywhere! First up…
Zap2It (You can watch the video here)
“American Idol’s” Season 9 finale showdown between Crystal Bowersox and Lee Dewyze is here! The usual suspects around the blogosphere are making their predictions and placing their bets about who will snag this year’s crown. But who better to share first-hand experience of the finale then “American Idol” Season 5 runner-up David Archuleta.
Zap2it sat down with Archie and former Idol contenders Kimberly Caldwell and LaKisha Jones at the AT&T U-verse Lounge in the W Hollywood. And we sure did have a great afternoon kicking it at the hotel with this “American Idol” trio.
In the first installment of our Archuleta sit-down, we pick his brain on how he thinks Bowersox and Dewyze are feeling right at this moment — or shall we say the “Idol” moment. Because to borrow from “Idol” Season 6 winner Jordin Sparks, this is Crystal and Lee’s now.
When asked to enlighten us about the excitement, anticipation and anxiety surrounding Mamasox and Lee, Archuleta describes the period of time as a “crazy rollercoaster of emotions.”
“There’s so much going on. There’s so much attention on them. It’s so insane… But at the same time so exciting,” Archuleta explains. “It’s a real thrill because it’s like you’re so close to that finish line. It’s just that final sprint.”
But obviously one of the million dollar “Idol” questions of the moment — along with who will replace Simon Cowell — is who will win Season 9?
“I think people just really feel a connection with Lee that is really honest and open. And he’s just such a great guy. I think people want to see him win. I would totally be happy with him winning,” says Archuleta. “I mean, I think Crystal is super talented too. She’s had some really powerful nights. She’s never been like the worst or anything like that. She’s always had a constant strength and endurance just to her as an artist… But I just feel like Lee — you know thinking as an American Idol, as a person and example for people — it would just seem right for him to be that.”
So “Idol” aficionados there you have it: David Archuleta picks Team Lee Dewyze to prevail as Season 9’s winner. If David’s prediction is correct, then Mamasox coincidentally finds herself in great “American Idol” runner-up company along with he, Adam Lambert and Katharine McPhee.
Post-Season 9 chatter, Archuleta also talks with Zap2it about the upcoming release of his book, “Chords of Strength: A Memoir of Soul, Song and the Power of Perserverance” his sophomore CD release, Simon Cowell’s departure/replacement, as well as his take on Bieber Fever. Stay tuned for more Archie details, plus some answers to your burning questions no Twitter.
You know theyāve got to be sweating bullets backstage at American Idol tonight. The final performances from Crystal Bowersox and Lee DeWyze that will determine who nabs the title begins shortly, so who wouldnāt be a bit anxious?
And, according to season seven runner up, David Archuleta (whose been through it), the outside influences are overwhelming and itās tough to focus. But between the interviews, fittings and prep time itās still easy to enjoy the whole experience.
IF THERE’S ONE PERSON WHO CAN RELATE TO THE FINAL AMERICAN IDOL CONTESTANTS, IT MAY BE THIS GUY.
DAVID ARCHULETA WAS THE IDOL RUNNER-UP TWO YEARS AGO — AND SAYS HE UNDERSTANDS WHAT THE REMAINING FINALISTS ARE GOING THROUGH.
ARCHULETA says: “I feel like I do have a good idea. I mean, it’s not, I’m sure it’s different for every person but the finale week is so crazy. It feels like there’s no time for anything and I am sure it’s overwhelming. But I know they’re having the time of their life too. It’s like wow, we’re in the top 2 here. And I’m sure, I just can’t wait to see their performances tonight. It’s going to be really exciting.”
ARCHULETA ALSO TALKED ABOUT SIMON COWELL — SAYING IDOL WON’T BE THE SAME WITHOUT HIM.
COWELL IS LEAVING AFTER SPENDING ALL NINE SEASONS AS AN AMERICAN IDOL JUDGE.
ARCHULETA says: “Its gonna be weird without Simon I have to say it. But I guess we’ll just have to see what they do afterwards. Because Simon, he really makes the show but he’s been great. He’s really, changed a lot of people with his influence and has had a big impact on the show.”
Billboard ranked all of the “American Idol” contestants according to song and album sales and radio play, but we asked you to vote on which singer is really the best. Hundreds of thousands of votes were cast to pick your favorite male and female “Idol,” David Archuleta and Carrie Underwood (see individual male and female results here). And over the last week, you turned out in droves again in the run-off vote between David and Carrie. So who is your ultimate favorite idol? The votes are in…. and the winner is David Archuleta with a whopping 92% of you picking him over Carrie’s 8%! Congrats, David.
Winning our poll is “really flattering,” Archuleta tells Billboard.com. “I guess the fans I have are just really supportive. I think it’s cool that people consider me their favorite, especially because it’s Billboard. I check Billboard every week and I’m starting to get the magazine more, and I have a Billboard book, so it’s just funny that this is from Billboard, too. It’s not just some teen website, you know? It’s Billboard. I think that’s cool.”
What does he think of getting more votes than Carrie Underwood? “It’s crazy,” he says. “Carrie’s just so successful. She’s sold millions and millions of album and she has a great voice and a great personality.”
All you Archuleta fans will be heartened to hear he’s got a new album on the horizon. “We’ve been talking about releasing a single later this summer and then having the album come out this fall,” he details. “I think I worked to get more lively grooves into some of the songs. Except for “Touch My Hand,” there wasn’t really anything on my last album that made people move. It was more light and fluffy and fun because that’s all we really had time to do. I didn’t really have time to go through the songs and say, ‘This song has a story that needs to be said. This song really shows who I am.’ So it’s been nice having more time to think about what I want to say and share with other people so they can say, ‘Hey, I think I’m getting to know who David Archuleta is.'”
