  1. This is totally OT but it really befuddles me that an ‘artist’ who can’t sing a note to save herself gets a Grammy for vocal performance. WTH?!

I don’t know what criteria the Grammy peeps use to judge award winning vocal performances but whatever it is David should win a boatload of Grammys before his career is through!

  2. haha!hi john!good to see you here again! oh the grammys eh?theres been some mixed reactions about that lately lol. and my opinion : if the grammys know the actual meaning of TALENT,they will include david in the list next year.lol.

  3. Who was the ” Artist” you are referring to??????

I didn’t watch it after I saw Lady gaga hung upside down, dripping or sprinkling droplets of water……That is talent I supposed!!!

    Tell me who was that!!!!

  4. Eunice

I’m referring to a certain lass who’s the current rage in the country music scene. She makes my ears bleed listening to her ‘sing’ lol.

  5. dear jive, can we have a studio recording pleaseeeeee? better still,a brand new song for jorvid. pleeease.*puppy eyes*

and hi cassie!dont recall seeing you around here..hehe..welcome to aam! (:

  6. My gosh! BEST DUET EVER! > . <

and HELLOOOO peeps. =.= Miss you guys :') been bogged down with college stuff since…I dunno, forever? feels like it anyway.

David, you make my world a better place ❀

  7. eunice, hahaha… the artist who hung herself upside down was Pink whereas Lady Gaga fell into the chimney and came out looking sooty together with Elton John. He still have incredible voice!! Some of the performers were out of tune but the most obvious was the “artist” that John mentioned. Really caught by surprise and wondered how come she can win so many awards!! and her US tour for this year was completely sold off within 2-3 hours after the booking opened late last year!!

Enjoyed the “No Air” duet. Wow..both of them have incredible voice and Grammy has certainly missed these 2 talented teen stars.

  8. lol, thank you john…. Because I dunno how she won it too. Anyway, THAT DUET WAS GREAT! πŸ˜€ Hehehehe, so happy to see new videos of David, I really do miss this place and The Guy!

Oh and do I spot a rather fit David? πŸ˜‰

  9. Aiyoh. Why ears bleed pulak? I kind of like her songs…but yeah, I didn’t sincerely think she deserves it. :/

    He looks taller now. :’)

  10. OOps! So that was Lady Pink! Thanks ! Akang for pointing out. Well, both ladies are really something. One came out from the chimney and the other one was lifted up from the pool or something.Hahaha! No wonder I was confused!
    what a show!!!

Oh, that special lass!I think her preeeeetty face scores more grammy than her vocal. Look is another great asset for a singer!! I like her look, sweet and classy, as long as she doesn’t get into all the other costumes like some! Maybe, someday she may. Who knows!

  11. leana!good to see you here too! Hope you’re doing well..college life is rough alright..but hang in there!it’ll be worth it in the end (:

heya debz!yeahh that boy is growing alright..dont we all feel like proud moms? LoL

eunice, akang, hehe..i guess the grammys has kinda lost their standard over the years..but its still a big recognition..one that D and jordin definitely deserves.

No airrrr no airrrrrrrrrrr! gosh i LOVEEEE the part where they both come in together at “NOOO airrrrrrr!!!” towards the end. epic.

Thanks for the article πŸ™‚ It says exactly how I feel about the TS hype and her multiple Grammy nods. I don’t deny that TS’s label and management has done an excellent job in packaging and promoting her to the hilt resulting in massive sales of her sophomore album. David’s management could learn a thing or two from them.
But does popularity equal artistry? Does it deserve all the accolades? I think not and I would have expected the Grammys to be more intelligent and discerning in rewarding truly ground breaking musical achievements. Not bubble gum and fluffy sweet treacle like TS and the rest who also parlay the same mundane stuff. To be fair TS is not the only artist who has achieved Grammy heights solely through their record sales and popularity. I guess the almighty dollar speaks the loudest when it comes to doling out the awards especially with the depressed state that the record industry is in.
I think David’s management team has to sit down and come up with a solid promotion strategy for David when his second pop album drops this year. I hope they shop around for the best possible songs to put on his album. Perhaps then we can see a Grammy or two for David next year πŸ™‚

  13. hey John,

Yes, I think all his fans are hoping David will be getting a Grammy or two next year. πŸ™‚ From his and other songwriters’ tweets, I think David is doing pretty well in his song writing. Well, we certainly hope it would be good as it’ll determine his music destiny since his contract with Jive is only 3 records.

If it is true, based on our assumptions that in order to win a Grammy Award, one needs to have a good record sales and popularity, then David’s management team has to do something about it rather than leaving it to David’s fans to do the promotions, right?!! πŸ™‚

    Have a good weekend!

  14. hey eunice, πŸ™‚ I think we, fans, want the best for David. he he he..

Wishing you Health, Wealth & Happiness this Chinese New Year!!

    p.s. – David’s chinese horoscope’s predictions for this CNY is good!! πŸ™‚

  15. Hey Akang!!!!! Wish you a Happy and Prosperous chinese New Year!!!
Yes! and what’s this year’s animal?

  16. hi John,
David’s animal sign is a “horse”. The predictions for him are:-

    1. After a year’s of hard work, 2010 is the year for him to shine. [He deserves it!]

    2. He’ll see his efforts recognised by his superiors and peers [JIVE, pls take note]

    3. He’ll receive support from his peers, friends and family during the year. [Yes, so are his fans – 100%]

    4. He’ll also meet someone valuable who will aid him in his future endeavours. [Yes, yes!!]

    5. He is unlikely to meet his Miss Right this year. [awww… πŸ™‚ ok at least for now! ]

hi eunice – This is the year of the Tiger. It’ll be a “Tiger with a few rusty teeth” meaning things are not that smooth. A year of natural disasters, financial difficulties, political unstability, environment matters and legal matters and also less babies!! πŸ™‚

Well, as far as I remembered, every Tiger year is not a good year. Too fierce, I guess. hahaha… I strongly believe in the chinese zodiac than the mat salleh’s. Theirs is not as accurate as ours! πŸ™‚

Well, it’s look like a good year for David and we certainly look forward to a good ride!

    Good nite and sweet dreams!

  17. Thank you Akang! You are indeed a Zodiac expert here!!! Yes! This is David’s year to shine!

  18. hi eunice,

I’m no Zodiac expert but intrigued with the basic character of each animal sign where you could see similarity character of a person. hahaha.. Interesting study of a human kind. πŸ™‚

How are you spending your CNY this Feb 14?? At Chinatown?? You must now busy cleaning house, I presume? πŸ™‚ Take care.

  19. Hey Akang,

Yes, I agree, it is really interesting to study human kind! Not sure if animals can represent humans accurately though! Well, maybe dogs do! Heard of the term, “Like owners like dogs!” hahaha!

Oh! I don’t normally celebrate Chinese New Year, unless I am back home with my family. I did that last year but this year I will be working as usual.
Chinese New Year is not a holiday over this part of the world. We don’t have elaborate China town in the south. We just have a few groceries stores/shoplots that sell some Chinese and Vietnamese goods. Unlike the Northeast and West coasts, they have official china towns. It will be very Chinese atmosphere there at this time!

Happy chinese New year to you! Hope this Tiger year is mild and sweet for 2010! We don’t need a ferocious one.

  20. hi eunice,

Awww… needless to say “Enjoy yourself” even though you’ll be working. Just call home and you’ll feel the “love”. Yes, we do hope this Tiger Year would loose those rusty teeth!! hahaha… Will talk to you more after CNY. “Gong Xi Fa Cai” and a big hug to you!! πŸ™‚

Thanks for sharing info of the town you’re currently residing. I only visited the west coast and assumed that every State has an elaborate Chinatown. Interesting! πŸ™‚
