Archuleta Fan Scene is asking fans for song ideas for David’s Christmas Album:

It may only be the second week of June but the promise of a Merry Christmas is already here.

Ever since David Archuleta recorded his demo of “O Holy Night” back in December 2003, fans have been eagerly anticipating the release of his first Christmas album.

Fan Scene was allowed a sneak “peek” into Santa’s workshop to see what might lie in store for all the good little boys and girls this holiday season. While most of the presents are still under wraps, Santa told us that “O Holy Night” and “Silent Night” will both be making the CD!

“Mary Did You Know” and “The Christmas Song” probably won’t make the cut at this point, but the elves are still working on song selection so it may be a month or so before they are sure which songs are the best mix. In the meanwhile, they’d like to hear what songs YOU would like to hear on the David Archuleta Christmas Album.

Apparently that NYC show for Z100/Clear Channel was for Stripped after all. Y100 already has up the video On Demand of ALTNOY, ATM and Angels “Stripped,” although ALTNOY isn’t really “stripped” by the unplugged definition (he was singing to a backing track). I assume that Y100 probably put this up early b/c it’s the only Clear Channel station to have it up right now that I can tell. Others should follow.

Unfortunately we in Malaysia are not licensed to view the performances. So unless someone can get it on youtube…. no chance lah!

David Archuleta Not Surprised By Adam Lambert’s Coming Out
The season-seven ‘American Idol’ runner-up thinks Lambert wasn’t ’sneaky and secret’ about being gay.

Seventh-season “American Idol” runner-up David Archuleta is standing behind eighth-season runner-up Adam Lambert’s decision to announce that he is gay. Following the outpour of support from “Idol” judges, fellow contestants and fans, Archuleta announced his respect for Lambert and downplayed the overall significance of the revelation.

“I know it’s always interesting and surprising and shocking [to people] when they say those things, but that’s up to them, it’s their lives,” Archuleta said, according to a report from Rolling Stone. “I don’t think it was a big surprise.”

Archuleta was speaking in Washington, D.C., where he attended the Children Uniting Nations gala and performed a fan favorite from his “Idol” days, John Lennon’s “Imagine.”

Addressing Lambert’s decision to stay mum on his sexuality throughout the talent competition, Archuleta said, “I don’t think he was trying to be all sneaky and secret about it. I’m sure he was happy with who he was and stuff, it’s not like he was ashamed.”

Like many of the people MTV News has spoken with about the revelation, Archuleta was not surprised when Lambert came out of the closet. “I just kind of assumed it; I think everyone else did too,” he said. “I don’t think it’s a bad thing or anything.”

Remarking that Lambert was “really cool” when the singers met at a recent “Idol” performance, Archuleta went on to pay respect to the man’s talent. “He seems really confident when he’s onstage, but I don’t think it comes across as cocky or anything, and when I talked to him, it seemed like he was appreciating everything that was going on, and he was really grateful for those opportunities that he had,” he said.

This 3rd single of David’s self-titled album is great! The song itself already won the hearts of many listeners. But since this video came out, the song plus the video was even more perfect! In this clip, David’s every movement and action was well captured. The way he smiles, seriously, who can even resist it? All his fans were really fanatic in the clip. And he really enjoyed singing on stage! Just look at the way he moved around, touching hands with his fans, jumping up and down following the rhythm of the song… Overall, it’s perfect!

Zero Gravity
This version of zero gravity was totally different from the last one. The background music was great. As for his vocal, well I don’t need to mention much here right? Everyone here knows he has a great vocal. Personally, I like that part cause with you I can flyyyyyy. Especially the word fly. That was amazing! Flawless!

A Thousand Miles
A thousand miles…. hmm…. Well, this song really touched me. He sang it with full emotion and I can feel it. This is the quality of a real singer should have. At around 2:24, when he sang the word memory, the turning he made was, again, perfect! Just nice and not too much. Around 3:14, when the music slows down, I can even actually have that feeling that he was just standing right beside me, singing. And at around 3:36, that ohh…ohh… he sang was amazing! He totally caught up with the beats and the rhythm. It was like his voice and the song were in one. The vocal of David combines with the music perfectly. Wow! Another great song by David!

[For the record, Crush MV was on MTV when I wrote this. And I'm losing my concentration.. Lol]
I wouldn’t compare Vanessa Carlton and David’s rendition together cause each one of them has their own way delivering the song. BUT, when David sings it, it’s simply haunting. This song has such wonderful lyrics and David sang each verse with passion [which he always does] to connect with us, his angels.

It certainly sounds better than the previous version. I noticed the background vocals he did and it complements the song very well. There were also some changes on the tune of the song, making it more sorta like addictive cause I know everyone, and I mean, EVERYONE would start singing/dancing along when they listen to this!

TOUCH MY HAND MV

Splendid. Just splendid. With a black and white theme (although there were some touches of colours – mostly blue – on some parts), the MV certainly has succeeded in giving us the feel of our reminiscence of him when he was with us. TMH is such a fitting song for this and throughout the video, I like it when at one point, they focused on David’s hand trying to reach one of the fan’s hand. Simply clever, dontcha think?

CONCLUSION

I always try to find the right word to describe his music although it means I’d have to go and look up at the dictionary. Seriously. I know I’m not the only one who has experienced this kinda situation.

And then I thought to myself.

His music is beyond words. And David is just too wonderful for words.

Children Uniting Nations Gala

Firstly what is Children Uniting Nations all about?

Founded to protect the children who have no voice, whose fragile lives are being abused and lost by the millions due to uncertainties out of their control.

It is a proactive organization created to bring attention to the plight of at-risk and foster youth. The goal is to reach as many children in out-of-home care by offering role-model support, guidance, a sense of community and promote the importance of an education. Inspired by the Day of the Child, CUN wanted mentoring to be more accessible to children living in foster care and therefore created a mentoring program to be administered in every city nationwide.

Daphna Edwards Ziman, Founder and Chairperson

Daphna Edwards Ziman began her career in the entertainment industry when she founded Unicorn Records, the first punk rock record company in the world. She was nominated for a Grammy as a record producer for the “the Riper, the Finer” album, the band she has signed “Black Flag” had the longest running number one album on the independent chart. Daphna went on to work with MTV as a consultant and direct videos and movies. Mrs. Ziman is the President of an independent film and television production company, Edwards Entertainment International. David Archuleta sang the National Anthem before the Real Salt Lake vs Colorado Rapids soccer game at Tinto Stadium in Salt Lake City Saturday night.

Last Saturday, Archuleta was back at Rio Tinto Stadium where he performed a four-song concert following the Real Salt Lake-Colorado Rapids soccer match. His appearance Saturday was part of the stadium’s “Charity Begins at Home” event, which honors Utah military causes and families.

“I’m always up for good causes,” Archuleta said of Saturday’s event. “And it was back home. I don’t get to come home too often. I just love being able to come home and having an excuse to be home.”

One thing Archuleta will not be doing while he is home is graduating with his Murray High School class at this afternoon’s ceremonies. He said he was forced to drop out of high school when he started his extended run on “American Idol” last year.

Idol Stalker

David Archuleta sang the Star Spangled Banner at Real Salt Lake’s home game at Rio Tinto Stadium this weekend.  The American soccer club faced off against the Colorado Rapids over the weekend.

Last year’s American Idol runner-up looked really adorable in his soccer jersey and he delivered a really nice rendition of the national anthem.  I just love the quality of his voice and I’ve got to say (in a total “girl moment”) that I’ve never noticed how nice David’s eyes are!

It’s the school holidays! A great time to fire up those requests for TMH, ALTNOY and CRUSH on our radio stations. We are going to push these songs especially TMH on Fly, Hitz and Mix. What are our goals?

1. TMH debut on Fly’s MWC
2. TMH burning up Hitz20, Freaky Fly 30 and MixedUp20
3. Intensify TMH spins
4. Maintain ALTNOY and CRUSH spins and positions on the charts.

Why are we doing this? To ensure David’s songs stay in the airwaves! Until the next album drops! Until he swings by next!
