“Charity From The Heart” – To Benefit Rising Star Outreach In Honor of David Archuleta
Dear David Archuleta Fan,
You have heard the good news on the release of David Archuleta’s “Christmas From The Heart” album. In the spirit of gifting and charity that the Christmas season and David himself so perfectly embody, we have launched the “Charity From The Heart” campaign, in partnership with AngelsForACause.Org (AFAC).

In this campaign, we would like to appeal to YOU, the fan, to support Rising Star Outreach in honor of David Archuleta.
David has tweeted several times about Rising Star and thanked his fans for helping this charity. It’s obviously a cause very close to his heart. What Rising Star Outreach mainly does is that it takes children from families afflicted with leprosy in South India and provides them with schooling in subjects like English, Math and Science. It gives the future generation a rare fighting chance to be educated, to get employment, to lead meaningful, independent lives and to lift their families out of the vicious trappings of poverty and sickness. If not for donations, Rising Star would have no funds to educate the children and they would have to be sent back to the leper colonies. Thanks to the generosity of fans, a team led by David’s family dentist was able to provide much-needed dental treatment to Rising Star’s children, beautifully illustrated in the SOT video that David tweeted about :
AFAC has launched the Pathway of Hope project to raise $20,000 for school supplies and classroom furnishings for a new secondary school. For a minimum of a US$50 donation, you can get a brick on which you can inscribe two lines of text of your choice, up to 16 characters including spaces on each line. The text on each brick will be sand-blasted to ensure it lasts for years and years, way beyond our lifetimes, beyond David’s lifetime. Each brick will be laid out in a pathway set in a garden next to the school. The pathway will be a lasting tribute not only to the power of David’s inspiration, but the generosity of his big-hearted fans.
We encourage you to raise funds to donate at least one brick to the Pathway of Hope. A fan may think that US$50 for a brick may seem too big a sum for his/her to fork out in his/her own capacity, but it becomes much easier to raise US$50 if he/she gathers a group of fans, with each person contributing a smaller figure. Or ask the non-fans among your family, friends, schoolmates and co-workers to make a donation, for what better way to promote
David Archuleta, besides his music, than his love for charity?
Out of 300 bricks that are available, fewer than 100 have been donated so we have a long way to go. The more bricks that are donated, the longer the pathway and the bigger the physical reminder of David’s positive influence and his fans’ generosity and dedication. Imagine fans from each country donating one brick, building up, brick-by-brick, country-by-country, a pathway that visibly represents the world-wide love for David and that unites people for this worthy cause he whole-heartedly embraces!
David asked his fans “if you can do anything to help out” Rising Star Outreach in his vlog :
He is very aware of the Pathway of Hope, shown by his taking the time to tweet and autograph the brick:

To donate online, visit: http://risingstaroutreach.org/archuleta
Just click on the brick graphic and follow the instructions. A credit card is required to make a donation.
Important Note: Anyone who wishes to donate but who does not have a credit card can email <davidbeyondborders@gmail.com> and we will be happy to find a way to facilitate your donation to Rising Star Outreach on your behalf.
The deadline for donating a brick is September 15, 2009 so do act fast.
Some of us are still in school and finances are limited, so even if you’re not able to raise funds to donate a brick – a small contribution from you out of a daily allowance or pocket money can still mean a world of difference for children growing up in leper colonies who would otherwise have no chance of an education or hope for the future, if not for Rising Star Outreach.
In addition, as a special bonus, individual fans who donate US$5 and above will each receive a sky-blue AFAC bracelet with clouds that reads “Angels For A Cause: You Can Save The Day”, as a token of our appreciation. There are two sizes to choose from – big and medium. If you are a fansite admin or part of a bigger group raising funds, and if you’re willing to facilitate this, you can gather the list of fans who donate at least US$5 and pass them to us. Alternatively, individual fans can email <davidbeyondborders@gmail.com> with proof of donation, to claim their bracelet.

David has a special place in his heart for his fans world-wide and what better way to honor him than to support Rising Star Outreach and wear the AFAC bracelet!
