Well, I can’t really compare David with Vanessa. Since their styles are different from each other. But frankly, I prefer David’s version so much more! Whenever I hear him sing this song, it just makes me smile, smile and SMILE. Especially when he sings that “ … i need you, and i miss you …” total AWW-NESS.

Ok…well. This song..most of us love it!! Sadly when he was in KL he did not sing it. Now, we got the fan pack, its like great because this song is featured in it!! And..boy is it GREAT! I never heard him sing as great as this song. Hehe..studio versions are always the best. The backing vocals are great too. LOVE LOVE LOVE this song..kept playing it yesterday nonstop when i got it!

For the record, Crush MV was on MTV when I wrote this. And I’m losing my concentration.. Lol]
I wouldn’t compare Vanessa Carlton and David’s rendition together cause each one of them has their own way delivering the song. BUT, when David sings it, it’s simply haunting. This song has such wonderful lyrics and David sang each verse with passion [which he always does] to connect with us, his angels.

ZERO GRAVITY
It certainly sounds better than the previous version. I noticed the background vocals he did and it complements the song very well. There were also some changes on the tune of the song, making it more sorta like addictive cause I know everyone, and I mean, EVERYONE would start singing/dancing along when they listen to this!

TOUCH MY HAND MV
Splendid. Just splendid. With a black and white theme (although there were some touches of colours – mostly blue – on some parts), the MV certainly has succeeded in giving us the feel of our reminiscence of him when he was with us. TMH is such a fitting song for this and throughout the video, I like it when at one point, they focused on David’s hand trying to reach one of the fan’s hand. Simply clever, dontcha think?

CONCLUSION
I always try to find the right word to describe his music although it means I’d have to go and look up at the dictionary. Seriously. I know I’m not the only one who has experienced this kinda situation.
And then I thought to myself.

It’s here!! David’s a capella version of Prayer Of The Children. Tears are flowing as I’m listening to it. He’s the bestest!!

Good gosh almighty. This is sooo beautiful. I’m moved, shaken and my soul is lifted beyond eternity. I dont’ care if I come across as too biased but you can’t NOT be inspired by singing like this and with no music accompaniment to boot. You just can’t train for this; the emotional connections must come naturally and it’s a gift David has in abundance. He reaches out to your heart and soul and you are inexorably drawn in and you are inspired – spiritually and emotionally. Randy is right; David was born to do this and he’s performing his mission right now with his singing.

Don’t ever stop singing David. Please.

2008 American Idol runner-up David Archuleta, the 18-year-old who’s scored big with his song “Crush,” can now add Washington to his list of cities with a crush on him.

What the rest of the country saw on Fox last year, he brought to town to help draw attention to the fourth annual Keeping the Promise to Our Children conference, sponsored by hip-hop’s Russell Simmons and Hollywood philanthropist, moviemaker, and punk promoter Daphna Ziman.

Archuleta capped his two-day stay at a dinner for the conference last night. And while stars Shawn King and Terrance Howard performed, too, it was young Archuleta who earned a State Department standing O in the Benjamin Franklin Diplomatic Reception Room. “I’m going to try and accompany myself,” the young star nervously told the crowd. Then he sat down at the piano and played an almost-perfect rendition of John Lennon’s “Imagine,” belting out the song in that powerful but youthful voice that allowed him to get so far on Idol. He then performed Kurt Bestor’s “Prayer of the Children” a cappella. The vocal powerhouse told Whispers that he would have been “a little more nervous” if Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had shown up.

The night before, Archuleta and several other stars of the kids conference were feted at Washington’s Teatro Goldoni, just named the city’s favorite by Washington’s restaurant association. Check out our photo gallery of the event.

I’m an Idol fan, so I sought David out and got to sit with him and his dad, Jeff. I knew immediately that he is just as genuine and shy as he appeared to be on the show. He blushed and giggled when people praised his work. He covered his mouth when eating and trying to talk. He gave out autographs. And he dressed the part of a kid, right down to his black Chucks. He described his life since Idol as something of a blur, with little time at home. But he’s been a hit on the music and tour scene, selling some 700,000 copies of “Crush.” And he and his dad are just beginning work on a Christmas album. Jeff, who did not appear any bit of the ogre he was said to be behind the Idol curtain, is a coproducer. He said the album will include traditional songs like “Silent Night” and up to three written just for David.
