ZG Updates

From Wincy of Team Archie:

So we met someone’s daddy this week at the hotel of Manila…we had a great talk with him…he’s very nice to tell us that something will happen next week…and that we, all the archies fans have been waited for a very longggg time!

The most important information is that Zero Gravity (live version) and other 2-3 songs will be released sometime in the next week! Those live version will be from some of his solo concerts and Manila concert too.  And it will be released like the AOL session (EP?)! Aaaaagggghh! When is next week coming? Save up your pennies (or dollars in this case) ‘coz don’t say I didn’t warn you! Guess I’ll have to give up my Caramel Mochachino for the week – but anything for David!

Kylie & Justine’s Manila Recap!

Whooooo!!Recapzzzz!

Here are excerpts from their recaps:

Kylie: Even now, reality hasn’t hit me fully that I just flew over 1534*2 miles, spent $$$$ and braved the unknowns in a foreign city to catch David Archuleta live in concert. But I did!! I really did all that. What has David Archuleta done to me? It’s so uncharacteristic of me to do such thing. The whole journey was a dream-like reality and I felt I was spilt into 2 beings simultaneously – one watching from the mirror and the other in the mirror.

Justine:  Warning: This is going to be loooooong. Forgive me in advance. I rant mindlessly. Oy. Money-lah. Wow. Did the whole experience really happen? Yes. Yes, it did. Though everything seemed to happen in fast-forward motion –especially the concert– it was definitely an unforgettable experience; and certainly one of the best David experiences I’ve ever had (since there weren’t that many to begin with). But wow. What. An. Experience.

Davids to Come Back to Philippines for a commercial?

Source

According to Bernard Lomo (don’t know the exact spelling of the name).

He was in the Victory Party of Manny Pacquiao given by Chavit Singson (father of the Producer of David Archuleta-David Cook Concert) at Corinthian Gardens. As we all know, David Cook and David Archuleta went to this said party.

According to him the 2 Davids of ‘American Idol (season 7)’ are going to come back here in Philippines, after their successful back-to-back concert, to do a commercial.

I still don’t know if they already signed the contracts.

Errr.no idea how accurate this is but..if it is, its sure one loooong journey to do a commercial lol.

The David-David Concert Experience

Source

MANILA, Philippines – Being an “American Idol” fan, I can honestly say that there has been no season in the past, or present, as good as the show’s seventh season. So imagine my excitement and delight upon hearing that both David Cook and David Archuleta would be coming to Manila for a back-to-back concert. I assure you, the feeling was insurmountable.

When the day finally came, my friends Yumi and Chikai and I were extremely excited, and arrived at the venue a bit over four hours before the concert was scheduled to start, despite the fact that we had reserved seats. So we strolled around the mall for hours and grabbed a quick dinner before heading down to the concert grounds.

Once we located our 3,000++ peso-worth seats, I watched in awe as the venue slowly started filling up. I even spotted fans that flew over from Malaysia and Singapore in the crowd. It was quite a scene.

All the excitement of over 40,000 people packed in one venue was an amazing thing to witness. But nothing beat seeing the house lights start to dim, and smoke beginning to fill the stage, feeling a soft hush overcome the crowd, and then suddenly, hearing a burst of applause and a roar of enthusiasm as David Archuleta took the stage.

Archie pumped up the crowd with his hits such as “Crush,” “A Little Too Not Over You,” and “Touch My Hand.” He also covered a few songs of other artists like Robbie Williams’s “Angels” and Vanessa Carlton’s “Thousand Miles,” both of which he performed behind the keyboards.

The audience loved every last inch of his performances and you could tell Archie, too, was enjoying himself. He sang his heart out and sounded incredible, just as pitch-perfect as the record. He jumped and danced around on stage and his energy never swayed.

Unfortunately, time does not stand still, and after a dozen songs, Archie’s set was over. That was the sad news, but the good news was, David Cook was next!

Archuleta Remembers Idol Finale

Tonight Adam Lambert and Kris Allen will take the “American Idol” finale stage.  It’s a stage David Archuleta knows well; after all, he was there last year.  Although he wound up losing the “Idol” crown to David Cook, Archuleta still has great memories of what it was like to reach the “Idol” finale.

Listen to the audio clip HERE!

David Talks American Idol

MTV UK:

David Archuleta, who came second on last year’s American Idol has told MTV News that he was ‘fine’ about not winning the hit US show.

Archuleta who came second to season 8 champion David Cook claimed: “I thought if I win then great but if I don’t win then that’s totally fine. I wasn’t worried about it at all I was worried about performing my best…”

The Idol star, who has already enjoyed huge success in America following his stint on the reality TV show added: “My dream wasn’t to be the winner of American Idol; my dream was to be performing and what I am doing right now.”

David, whose self entitled album charted at number 2 in the US Billboard chart also said: “The show is a great way of getting your name out there, that’s what the show allowed me to do. It opened up a lot of doors and is a great platform.”

See, it’s not all about the winning. Let’s hope this year’s finalists Adam Lambert and Kris Allen take that advice on board.

A Tale of Two Davids

Police sources and organizers pegged the crowds that gathered to watch the David Cook–David Archuleta show last Saturday night at 50,000. It’s not hard to believe the number. From my seat somewhere in the VIP section, I could see people of all age groups waiting in breathless anticipation for the show: entire high school or college barkadas, mostly female, but with a few male companions in tow; full families, including kids as young as six or seven; white-haired, crinkly-faced grandmas sitting next to screaming pre-pubescents in their porma best; couples canoodling with each other and the occasional solitary concert-goer trying hard to enjoy the show by his or her lonesome

Kylie’s Recap:

A PERFECT DREAM?

I won’t even attempt to write a proper recap or a piece because I don’t possess John’s enviable writing skills – compelling and insightful, or Yvette’s riveting writing skill. Justine is a 1000x better writer than I am so I shall leave the recap to her. What I’ll do is to pen down some thoughts about my experience – both positive and negative and my thank you’s.

Even now, reality hasn’t hit me fully that I just flew over 1534*2 miles, spent $$$$ and braved the unknowns in a foreign city to catch David Archuleta live in concert. But I did!! I really did all that. What has David Archuleta done to me? It’s so uncharacteristic of me to do such thing. The whole journey was a dream-like reality and I felt I was spilt into 2 beings simultaneously – one watching from the mirror and the other in the mirror.

Dear Concert Organizers
BIG two thumbs down!
You don’t even know what “professional video cameras and cameras” mean? Then please do not use the word “professional” because I am the exact opposite of professionals. I have lousy and old gadgets by today’s technology standards but they disallowed mine. I am all for rules, rules keep you sane BUT only when you know how to make them and implement them. Just take a quick look and you could find hundreds of gadgets that were way more techie than mine. What gives???? Please explain the hundreds of fan videos surfacing in the net.
And when you do implement rules – you did so at the wrong time.

The DA fans at Platinum Section were standing throughout the whole time David was on but there were people who sat down, whom I assumed were DC fans. Towards the ending of Crush (the last song), one security guy came and told us to sit down because those sitting behind us were blocked visually. HUH????? You asked us to sit down when David was going to bow out soon and give way to …. an intermission???? And then we stood up again for a standing ovation? Just a minute apart? DID NOT MAKE A SINGLE SENSE. Later on, when the DC fans were standing, did we demand them to sit down? Why would we? It is a C.O.N.C.E.R.T not a philharmonic orchestra!! Even though I am not a DC fan, I stood up for some of his songs and jammed along to support DA’s good friend. After all, I do like some rock. It’s all about getting into the spirit of things. Comprehendo? You and weird “concert go-ers”.

There was a blessing in disguise, though….not needing to record videos at all allowed me to soak in every minute of the DA concert. But this was a teeny weeny redemption for you, because that experience was an enormous sore thumb in the whole experience. :P
And oh yeah, ticket collection was a stressful event which we didn’t appreciate to have gone through, being in a foreign city.

Dear Kricket and Gang
Sorry I missed out on any fan gathering that was going on. I wanted very much to meet the Pinoy fans! Thank you for such passionate love for DA.

Dear Travelling Gang
I want to give a shoutout to James Padfoot’s gang – all DC fans. Lol we didn’t fight, did we? We shared our stories and heard each other out. It was great hanging out with you guys – James, Ain, Pui San and Su (sp?). Thank you for your company at lunch and the flight home. Ain, you are like a free spirit and so funny. Neal will be there for you! PS, are you back on earth yet?? And I still like you-know-who but I am supporting your choice all the way! Hehe. Su, the gentle rock fan or is there another side I haven’t seen? Haha. James, awww, you are so lovable – we love you and your love for the two Davids.
Special shoutout to two Malaysian ladies we met in the same taxi we took to our hotels on Friday. Diha, we love your passion for anything Korean. Thank you for putting up with all the DA spazzing for you were the lone DC fan amongst us until you found your DC outlet at the airport on Sunday . You are so cute and I want to cuddle you! Oh Farida, Farida, Farida I cannot begin to describe the awesome time I had with you throughout DA’s time – we sang, we laughed, we waved, we giggled, we spazzed, we squealed, we pointed, we jumped, we screamed! It was crazy good to do all that with you! Thank you for de-lurking and posted something before I did! Both of you are so special – friendly, caring and considerate – we love you!

To Justine, Sharyne, Rusharr & family and Sheba,

oh my gosh! You guys RAWKED to the max!! We have to do a David Trip again!
Sharyne & Sheba are the only two people I know who completed the Asian Leg – Singapore, KL and Manila.
Sharyne, it was so fun having you with us! Thanks for the brownies!
Rusharr & Sheba, you guys rawked the “speed department” – first few people to post the concert videos while others are caught in the massive congestion at MoA! Thank you so much for staying up late and shame on us for not able to accompany you throughout.
Justine, I love you with all my heart. Thank you for coming along with me and forgive me when I became too much of a mother on this trip. I also bow down to your twittering abilities from the hand phone – those lightning fingertips and the fact that you didn’t even need to see the keypad – woah! Next to you, I was such a dreadful twitter-er. And okayyyyy, I forgive you for posting the incriminating but blurry and unidentifiable “Kylie” picture!! It was a good thing I burnt the incriminating video.

Dear Jeff,
Although I didn’t get to meet David in person on this trip, I was satisfied with it because meeting you was my top priority for the trip. Thank you for chatting with Justine and me. The DA fans ARE crazy….but in an endearing way! Their commitment and perseverance will bedazzle even you! Oh by the way, I couldn’t help thinking that you reminded me of David during our chat – soft-spoken and warm.

Dear Band Members
I am disappointed that I didn’t get to meet you guys!!! I wanted so much to meet the people who did a rocking job backing up David. Thank you for always putting in 101%! I was wishing each of you do a short solo on your musical instruments…..

Dear David Archuleta
You are a true musical soul and singer. How do you sing so effortlessly? You don’t scream or shout in your song, you hit notes on the spot in a heartbeat, you add so much color and life to each note, you do runs and change up runs each time you sing, you’re not pitchy when you sing and jump at the same time, you have beautiful hands (we all saw them magnified!), your cute hand actions when you sing, your cute laughs here and then, your mega-watt smile, your whistling, your at-times awkward banter, your intense jumping, your stomping (!), your Tagalog greetings, your joy shown on your beautiful face, your grateful “thank you’s”…..to non-fans, you may be bland and robotic but to me, YOU were the BEST part of the whole trip. You and the gang I hung out with.
Thank you for such an incredible and exhilarating concert!

Dear Special One
I couldn’t have made the trip without you – for “encouraging” and “financing” me to go :P , for researching on all the information and for willingly take care of the kids by yourself. Sorry I wasn’t there to celebrate Man United EPL victory with you but I was crazy excited when I got your text about the “goaless draw”! “We are the champions…..” Thank you from the bottom of my heart – love you much!

Dear Self
So, was it a perfect dream?
I’ve gained an important closure for my “DA obsession”, haha. Don’t get me wrong – it’s not like I am abandoning DA. Far from that! I understand why I love David Archuleta first and foremost. It is his voice and his ability to communicate through his singing and music. You won’t see this much in the commercial-flavored songs such as “Crush” but most in message songs such as “Somebody Out There” – his singing has the ability to penetrate your heart, cut it open, speak to it and sealed it back. If only you let it. That’s why some people do not get David. And that is also why I want so much to hear him sing “Desperate” live. For me, for most parts for the concert, his singing became so alive that it took precedence over David Archuleta himself. But his personality and characters sealed the deal! I am proud to be supporting a sweet and down-to-earth talented singer such as David Archuleta.

The perfect dream was the combination of the KL promo stop and the Manila concert – a full circle. My deep-rooted admiration and respect for David Archuleta has grown sprouts now!

Concert tidbits
1.    We were at the Platinum Section and observed that there were more DC fans than DA fans. In other areas, I thought they were pretty spread out.
2.    When the band came on, we saw a shadowy guy raised his hands and the crowd screamed. Lol, it was Alex.
3.    Speaking of Alex, he was dancing and goofing a lot on stage.
4.    At times, the smaller screens focused on the band members, which was really nice to see!
5.    TMH – This is an absolutely perfect song to open the concert (which he didn’t at the KL showcase) and have the crowd sing along. Of course, there was no way we could even touch the tip of his fingers. A downer! He was teasing us with his outstretched hand.
6.   Zero Gravity – Finally got to hear it live! The live performance truly exceeded the anticipation and expectation levels. Not everyone was jumping which was understandable since we have DC fans there but just imagine if each one present is a DA fan?!!!!
7.  You Can & TBWY – Oh my heart! Chills just listening to his voice. The crowd was mostly silent but we screamed when he hits those trademark notes! And he smiled. He smiled. Minor note: I thought Kendra’s vocal backups during TBWY were slightly sharp hence didn’t complement David’s rich tone.
8.    The close-ups of David at the keyboard and during You Can (he was sitting for this) were to die for. Lol, as Farida said, “Eee, comelnya!”
9.    Barriers – I love the tone of his voice and all the hand movements!!! Enough said.
10.    YEDL – We had so much fun with this song. David sounded playful, if you know what I mean. Thank you, David for singing this song! His whistling were so “speshul” – we were giggling in fits.
11.    The Mall of Asia was playing both Davids’ cds throughout Friday and Saturday. Concert posters were everywhere.
12.    David was truly moved and overwhelmed by the sight of the crowd – it was deep and far back (silver and bronze sections). According to DC, during the intermission, Mr. Archie told him, “….you won’t be ready for what’s coming….”, referring to the 50,000+ strong crowd. DC also referred DA as his good friend…so people, they are good friends. And apparently both Davids ate dinner together every night. Male bonding FTW!
13.    A huge mob gathered at the back entrance of the concert venue and surrounded a car – was any David in there? We couldn’t tell because all the entourage cars have heavily tinted windows. I wonder what time the Davids reached Edsa Shang……
14.    The congestion that ensued post-concert was another sight to behold. Lol. It was extremely difficult to get a free taxi. And if we managed to, we would be caught in the massive congestion. We decided to walk back to our nearby hotels.
15.    At the hotel, we found Rusharr in the lobby, busy uploading the videos. Bless her heart!
16.    I’m sure I missed a lot more tidbits.
17.    David is a musical delight to my ears and heart. Period.

Justine’s Recap:

David Archuleta, Epic Concert, Money-lah, Kylie and Gang: An Experience

Warning: This is going to be loooooong.

But wow. What. An. Experience.

We arrived in Manila on Friday afternoon and checked into the hotel. Then we headed to the Mall of Asia and spent our time there the rest of the day. The mall is ridiculously huge and security is madly tight that guards are placed at every entrance to spot-check your bag. Freaky. Amazingly, David’s album was spun from the moment we stepped into the mall until the moment we left. Ahh…such soothing music at the mall. Posters promoting the concert were also found everywhere we turned…even at the food court, where, oddly enough, the most posters could be found. Awesome. We had dinner there. The posters were nicer than the food, though.

I had only gotten 4 hours of sleep in 36 hours at the time and was ready to collapse in bed…which was what I did when we got back to the hotel. I believe I wasn’t the only one who slept like a log that night to recharge the energy level for the concert. I got up at 12PM and Kylie got texts from James Padfoot that David was having his sound check now. I dashed to the bathroom to shower and when we all arrived at the concert venue, David was no longer there and we mourned. Just kidding. We saw a short line of people queuing up at the GOLD/VIP entrance around 1PM. It was scorching hot and the gates would only open at 5PM. We left the place and met up with James Padfoot and company…which turned out to be three awesome fans of Cook. And then we went for lunch together. It was interesting to hear them express their admiration for Cook and I discovered that they are as much of a fan of Cook as we are of David. And somehow we got along very well and heard each other out. (Refer to Kylie’s thank-you recap.) Great lunch, we had.

After purchasing the famous dried mangoes at the hypermarket, we took a cab back to the hotel to get ready for the concert. We left around 5PM for the Mall of Asia and met up with the two incredible women –one an Archie, another a Cookie– we had bumped into in the cab on Friday. (Refer to Kylie’s thank-you recap.) We went for dinner and made a dash to the concert venue around 7.15PM. (Sorry for the delay, guys. The rice was steaming hot.) We arrived right in front of the entrance at 7.30PM. We were a few nanoseconds away from entering the place when the ladies checking our tickets and bags delivered the most horrific news of the night: Our video cameras were not allowed into the venue. (Refer to Kylie’s thank-you recap.)

I had never felt more distraught than I had then. I had bought and brought the camcorder solely for the concert and now that plan was thwarted. We had no time to lose because the concert was about to begin at 8PM. We speed-walked all over the mall to look for a check-in bag area. When we finally found it, the man who worked that refused to keep our cameras for us but we weren’t hearing any of it because there was no other option. We sprinted for the concert venue 10 minutes before 8PM and got to our seats.
The first person we saw was Ray. He was seated at the sound-control booth (I presume) that was just three rows behind our seats. We waited for him to be idle since he had his hands full at the time and waved hello. He recognized us and asked, “How are you?” but couldn’t walk over to us because, naturally, he was in-charge of something there. I turned back to look at the stage in anticipation when Kylie nudged me and said, “Jeff.” I turned around and saw Jeff standing next to Ray. He was looking around and Kylie went up to him and introduced us. We shook hands and Jeff started talking to us immediately as if he had been talking to us all this while. He mentioned about how the fans in the Philippines were a bit crazy though they were crazy in an endearing way. He also told us how fans were “camping at the hotel” or “hanging off the walls” at the mall wherever David went. That was when we knew we were never going to be able to meet David face-to-face. But we were over the moon because we had met the man who had raised David to be who he is today: Jeff Archuleta.

The concert was about to begin around 8.20PM and we thanked Jeff and went back to our seats…for a second or two. David came on then and we were no longer in our seats. Kylie went to join the two awesome ladies we had met in the cab as mentioned earlier and I went to stand in the middle of the aisle, directly blocking Ray and Jeff’s view. But I figured they wouldn’t mind. Oy. A Filipino fanboy around my age (I presume) asked me where I got my shirt –AAM’s good-looking T-shirt, that is– and I told him that I was from Malaysia. Then he told me that he was here for David Archuleta and I thought, “Awesome.”

David came on with Touch My Hand and I hadn’t expected that. I was to cellcast the song for my cousin sister and fumbled to dial her while soaking in David the singer as well as updating Twitter via Pacmee. It finished too fast, as always, and Barriers came on. Now, thanks to the numerous videos of David performing this song which I’ve seen, I couldn’t help but mimic his actions when he sang certain lines. (Sorry, Filipino fanboy, if I scared you. It was a reflex. I couldn’t help it.) ALTNOY came right after and it flew by once again. I struggled to capture good shots of David with my unbelievably blur camera from my handphone and immediately Pacmee-d them the minute I got a good one. David sang You Can after that and needless to say, I swooned. It was so very heavenly and rich and velvety and I was in a state of euphoria.

The band started playing the beat to My Hands and I immediately called Anne because I knew she loves the song. My Hands was brilliant. I wouldn’t be surprised if Anne had sung along with the crowd all the way from the other end of the line in Malaysia at the end of the song when the music stops and it was only just us and David singing the song. Amazing. Simply amazing. I was definitely surprised when David began to sing Your Eyes Don’t Lie. It was truly one of my favorite songs (besides the rest on the album, that is) and was tripping with glee! And I was literally tripping when he began to whistle at the final part of the song. Oh my goodness can that boy whistle. He whistle-sang and even changed the last whistling note. And then I just died standing up. And came back to life when he sang To Be With You. The crowd was as silent as a rock when David sang the opening lines. It was just the most gorgeous sound that my ears had ever heard. Beautiful. I had goose bumps.

David then proceeded to sing Don’t Let Go and Waiting For Yesterday which seemed to be over in two seconds. It was just too fast! I wanted it to last longer. Then the tune to Stand By Me came on and I became giddy! I had always loved watching David dance along to the song and work his moves and that was exactly what he did. Ah…spaz alert!!! Then David went on to sing A Thousand Miles and Angels…during which the crowd went wild and cheered like nuts. And then…it finally came. Zero. Gravity.

Before David launched into the song, he told us to jump along as he sang it and boy did I jump like a mad woman on happy pills. Even though I am incapable of dancing decently, I just danced along to the music as if nobody was watching –because nobody really was…everybody’s eyes were trained on David. And when David came to the chorus, he started to jump and I jumped in excitement, too! And whenever I jumped, the Filipino fanboy beside me jumped and simultaneously stared at me. Har har. Caution: Weird animal from the zoo on the loose. I was bouncing crazily on my spot while holding my handphone in my right hand because Anne was on the other line –probably bouncing away, too. Zero Gravity was simply spectacular. Cheesy as it may sound, I felt like I was experiencing zero gravity. Nothing held me back…as I floated into the awesomeness of David and his music. Now every time I jump I remember the song because I am not a jumper…at all.

David closed his show with Crush and before we knew it, his set was over. What was going on? Hadn’t he only come onstage five minutes ago? And he was leaving now??? Nooooo!!!! It truly felt like five minutes had passed when in reality, David had already fed us with 14 incredible songs. Intermission ensued as I sulked away (internally) and cringed while re-reading all the Pacmee updates I had sent. Cook came on about 20 minutes later and the crowd erupted with cheers and screams. I have to say that Cook performed really well and knew exactly how to interact with the crowd and get them pumping. Although I began to enjoy Cook’s set after some time, I really enjoyed watching one person rock out…and that was the one and only Kylie. I would have tried to get a video but that would seem too obvious because I had to hold the phone in one position for a long time. So I decided to take a quick picture without looking at the screen. If you’ve seen the picture, you’d know how blurry it was. It was extra blurry because Kylie was jumping up and down that the motion was too fast for the camera on my handphone to capture. Heh. A cool and hip woman, that lady is.

When Cook closed the show with his last song A Daily Anthem, he said the words I was eagerly waiting for: “Give it up for Mr. David Archuleta!” I sprinted from my seat back to the middle aisle and updated Pacmee while snapping photos and sending them to Pacmee as well. Again, I became giddy with joy and relished watching David sing part of Cook’s song that was of the rock genre. And really, just two seconds later, they were gone. The crowd hung back for a while to see if anything miraculous would take place but alas, we had to face the sad fact that the concert of the year had concluded.

When we finally came out of the concert venue, we saw a huge mob encircling a car/cab/van that was allegedly, David’s car/cab/van. I think it was a false alarm, though. We decided to walk back to the hotel from the concert venue since there was a massive traffic jam in the area and tens of thousands of people were also waiting for cabs. We took our own time strolling back to the hotel and enjoyed the night. What a day we had had.

I am very thankful for every single blessing throughout this trip. It was definitely the opportunity of a lifetime to be able to attend, hopefully, one of many concerts of the year and got to experience David live yet again after not too long ago. I was still reeling over the sheer amazingness of it all as I lay in bed that night and praise God for everything that came with this. David had managed to add changes to all 14 songs and sounded so unbelievably FANTASTIC. I never lost sight of why I am a fan of his…but the concert just made me become more of a fan than I already am, if that is possible. David is just such a gem and boy am I glad that I was able to witness it during its shining moments and can now deem them priceless.

And cetak rompak-ing a bit from Kylie: I’d like to thank God first and foremost, for making this trip a part of the plans He has for me. I am forever grateful and thankful for His uncountable blessings. Secondly, I owe huge thanks to my parents and brother…for even granting me the consent to go to Money-lah and for not shooting me down immediately. And for all the tiny little things they’ve done in preparation for this trip that morphed into big things which mean a lot to me. Thirdly, I want to thank the company I had in Money-lah. I had never expected to meet anyone new at all, much less anyone as amazing as you guys –both the Cookies and the Archies. Glad to know we were all insane enough to fly miles for an artist (though not just any artist) and yet we were sane to one another. Heheh. (Sorry if that came out wrong.) And the most important person in the trip, dearest Kylie: Thank you. For everything. For looking out for me (because you had to), putting up with me (because you had to), for asking if I was OK with the food (because you wanted to), for giving me the green light to eat my favorite food (because you loved to), for just being my Money-lah mom (because you were forced to). Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You rock. (Literally, hahahahaha.) And last but never the lest, my gratitude goes out to David (Jeff, Ray and the band); without whom I would have never gotten the experience of a lifetime and cherished moments for eternity. You light up my life. And I thank you.

And now I would like to move on to my first day of college… Just kidding. It ends here. Oy. Sorry for the extremely lengthy recap and the tedium that came with it. Glad to have shared it with you.

  1. Anne, i want to order the magazine. How about you?

That must be one of the best best mag photo session ever, he looked so very handsome, i must have that mag along with my Lifestory mag hahaha, its a must have issue.

Anne, one more thing, i noticed that FlyFm does not play David’s song often, i mean, in the weekends, i could listen to the radio around 2hrs straight and not one song from David is aired, other artist such as Rhianna and Britney spears, their songs are aired about 5 to 6 times in that 2 hrs. I really wanted to email them and ask why is that so and gave them David’s CD if they don’t have it (if that the reason why they don’t air David’s songs very much). I mean, HitsFM can air David’s songs at anytime, is there’s such thing as radio station politics goin on?

Anyhow, gotta get back to work, haha.

Have a nice day you guys at AAM here.

    cheers

  2. kitttyyy! yeap im interested in that mag.Gorgeouzzzz pics in it. yeah fly fm desnt play much nowdays, their playlist is based on requests so if no request, no airplay..so we must requesttt
u have a nice day too!

  3. Omg Kylie and Justine. *heart-hands-hug*

*flails* IT WAS SO EPIC I STILL CANT WRAP MY HEAD AROUND IT LAH. KUDOS FOR THE TWO OF YOU FOR BEING ABLE TO PEN THAT. *stops shouting like a nut*

Even my friends got really into the song, haha. ZERO GRAVITY IS AMAZING LIVE. Omg.

  4. Kitty,

    You’ve got Life Story mag.!!!

Your lover sent it to U?

    I’d love to have one.

  5. Ok , I’m sooo getting that mag . It has some of the best pics of David I’ve ever seen xD !!! Just one copy’ll do plus I already bought the Life Story mag ages ago & surprisingly , it’s still in good condition lol .

  6. Kylie & Justine..m beaming from ear to ear just reading ur recaps..’mad women on happy pills’ haha .. the whole recaps are so hilarious!

U guys out wrote John & Yvette.. just joking J & Y .. every recaps of ur experiences with David hv been amazing!!!

My sis from Sg has sent me a copy of the mag .. mm shud hv asked her to send more … oh well…

  7. Kitty dear – Flyfm has reduced spins of David’s songs due to low requests. I’ve reiterated this point many times lol – Flyfm’s playlist is based purely 100% on requests – and requests have dropped significantly since the showcase.

We only have ourselves to blame if we do not request enuf or make efforts to call Flyfm to get them to play lol. I guess a lot of fans have moved to Hitz since the showcase.

One of the best ways to get them to slot in and play his song impromptu is to call Night Flight 8pm – midnite and request. If u get thru, for sure they will play it even if it is not on the set playlist.

So pls everyone keep requesting hard on Fly so that the songs get back on the regular spins lol!

Great recaps btw, Kylie and Justine!

  8. Hi Elicia.. ya.. let’s hope more ppl will vote. I exhaust all my emails addresses both on fly30 n MWC daily.

and elisa!nice to see you here :D *waves*

  11. Mamacub and Cubhead :-)

Who says you gurls couldn’t write? I’ve always said that the best kind of writing is the one that comes straight from the heart. Like any creative effort, those that spring from the very centre of your being are the ones that rings the truest and connects the deepest.

I loved your recaps; it’s real, it’s heartfelt and comes from the truest and most unerring source – your soul. This is the very reason why we love David’s singing so much for like your writings it springs from the same place :-)

  12. Wow, Justine and Kylie did a recap!! Woohoo! God bless you guys! And I second what John said. You guys can definitely write.

Also did I see a post from Farida??? What?? Dude(tte) seriously, delurk already and post here more often.

Love the “Money-lah” term. Haha! Good one.

So yeah, it was plenty awesome. Definitely an experience of a lifetime and oh sooo worth it to see D perform live. And even better that I got to share it with such cool people. Thanks guys for making it all the more memorable!

  13. Anyone seen Rusharr? I miss her and I didn’t get to say a proper goodbye to her at Manila.

  14. *hugs* *hugs* and *insert big long archuleta aww*

I couldn’t help but smile when I read your recaps. It’s amazing how a person (or two) could bring people from all over the world together. :)
I could imagine being there with you as I read the recap, and it really brushed away my disappointment for not being there as I read every. single. detail. lol

Oh and I just love how well the fans of both Davids get along so well. :) Just like how the two Davids get along so well.

  21. wooow nice story!!

  22. Justine and Kylie,

You are creative with terms too. At first I wonder why and what is Money-lah! And after a while I laughed, that’s Manila!!!
    Oh girls! You are hilarious.

Hahaha! I wish I can see Kylie’s boisterous side in videos! She is gentle and calm most of the time. Kylieeeeee! Did you bring the house down with your dancing?

  23. Morning Amiraaaaaaaaa!

    Kylie

  24. morning guysssss! watching the results show now.
    and uploading the new stuffs

  25. Eunice, Lol, you havent seen anything yet….

of course I brought da house down! The security guy came around didnt he? Silly man and fans who complained about us if they did.

Listening to David singing ATM under an open night sky was the awesomenest experience ever. And the way we sang along.

    Kylie

  26. And oh, the funniest thing I found was Justine squeling to me quietly, “They are twins! Twins!” just before she took the photo. Haha. Cute twins with cute tshirts.

    Kylie

  27. Anne, do we get a surprise stage appearance from David?

    Kylie

  28. nope no surprise stage appearance. instead of giving david airtime, they gave bikini girl and norman gentle..ah AI AI..

btw, new post up guys :)

  29. Kylie, Justine. Thanks for the recap.
Justine, you should take a video of Kylie rocking with music. That would be AAM most epic video of the year.
Kylie, I felt your anger. I had really bad experience with our local organiser/security as well during D’s showcase in Malaysia. But at least you are able to enjoy the concert. Tell you the truth, my family arrived Sunway amphitheater at 12.30pm (two and a half hours before the showcase) and left the venue about 2.00pm with bruises in our hearts and scars in our memories.
I was humiliated by those security people, my kids were horrified, my hubby thought it was a waste of his time (yah, the black glasses and black tshirt were cool but the way they treated the patrons …grrr……….which ‘Along’ groups were they came from?)
I still haven’t seen David’s live yet even though the showcase venue only 20 minutes from my house. My life is not complete yet. I WANT TO SEE HIM live SO BADLY! I’M SO JEALOUS!

  30. Damania, I have A LOT, like TONS to complain about the whole KL promo tour. Lol. And the Manila concert, such an expensive concert for a make shift outdoor venue…. :P

Damania, I wished you had called me out at the carpark. I could have brought you guys in.

  31. Ya, I’m so regret now. But you walk too fastlah. lol. After that ugly incident which I will not forget for my whole life (don’t like to mention here), my family already lost their enthusiasm to watch the show. They just wanted to go home.

  32. Kylie, I had a shock too when I saw the venue. It huge but why outdoor open ground. At first, I thought is a stadium or something cause the tix are expensive.

  33. It’s a huge empty field. The concert organizers will then erect the structures and stuff whenever there’s a concert on. I notice they have a list of concerts lined up – PCD, someone someone, and someone someone.

The chairs were the normal white plastic chairs for parties and coffee shops. Make-shift la. Even the sound control station.

Lol, I thought the venue was INSIDE the Mall of Asia since the Mall is like HUGEEEEEEE. But Sharyne told us, nope. It was like it was. Expensive yah?

  34. And for Sheba, she was behind the last row of Titanium!!!!!! But separated by barricades. Sharye was 2 rows behind Titanium.

    Titanium was EXPENSIVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!
Platinum too. More than a concert at Stadium Negara.

  35. Lol sorry for consecutive posts….not logged in and thoughts come to me now and then.

Titanium & Platinum sections were right at the center of stage, with Plat directly behind Titan. Titanium is already a distance away from the stage. So Platinium lagi behind. But I can still see David on stage alright.

Imagine those at Silver and Bronze sections, so farrrrrrrrrr back. Not sure but for some, they could have been blocked by some structures eg. sound control section.

Also, I wished David had a picture of himself and the crowd taken – like what he did on the solo concert tour. I heard that DC did that although I didnt notice, probably becoz I was sitiing down. Lol, yeah I was sitting down for half of DC’s set.

Did you guys think I was a TRAITOR??? Shame on you guys! Lol. I am not la. Just showing support to DA’s good friend.

Haha, some DA fans left after D was done.

  36. Who is more popular in Filipine, Archie or Cook? Who got the most scream during the concert? Just curious. I love Archie’s good friend too but don’t know why I want Archie to be more successful than his friend in the music industry. So confusing.

  37. i wanna buy that mag too.. ask somebody in JB to find me one.. but idk if i’ll get it… :D

wow.. kylie and everyone who went to manila… nice experience you guys got there!!!! ;)

can’t wait for his concert here :)
